In today’s era,the concept of traditional and modern combination has become the current design development trend in China,this paper is aimed at the view of modern life and design needs,the traditional paper culture mining and recreate,in line with the modern actual situation,make Chinese traditional culture and modern life,show the charm of traditional culture.This paper is a detailed case,through field investigation,literature analysis,practical application and other methods,to study the value embodiment,design performance and design method of Tengchong handmade paper making in modern application,so as to "Find and Survey" series of home lighting design works as an example,to explore the diversity of handmade paper making and modern home lighting design integration and the adaptability to the home environment.Tengchong handmade paper and modern home lighting design,not only for the modern application of ancient paper development and rich methods,but also in "tangible and invisible" design to convey the traditional culture and emotional information,can make people from the visual,touch,perception to feel,experience the spiritual power and emotional resonance of traditional culture.
