In the context of smart manufacturing,the role of data as a core production factor in manufacturing systems is increasing.At present,enterprises with a high degree of standardisation are gradually promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of their manufacturing systems,so as to improve the efficiency of resource utilization,assist managers in scientific decision-making and maintain the technological barriers of enterprises.However,for small and medium-sized enterprises,it is difficult to directly apply the standardised information systems and their digital transformation solutions of large enterprises due to factors such as production methods,transformation costs and staff acceptance.This paper looks at the actual needs of a traditional small and medium-sized discrete manufacturing company,Company X.Based on existing research,the digital transformation is carried out to help the company make rational use of production data resources,provide decision-making solutions and improve the current situation of chaotic manufacturing processes.This paper takes the manufacturing system of Company X as the research object and carries out a study on the optimisation of the manufacturing system of a typical small and medium-sized enterprise.Firstly,based on the field research of Company X,through value stream diagram and fishbone diagram analysis,the main reasons for the chaotic manufacturing system of the company are frequent hardware equipment failure,serious backlog of work-in-progress in the production and storage chain,and lack of inter-departmental information interchange.To address these three core factors affecting the manufacturing system,the company adopted data processing,digital twin,process optimisation,"IE+IT" and other multi-technology approaches to construct an integrated production-warehousing-information management path for Company X's manufacturing system.-The integrated optimization path of information management creates a solid foundation for Company X to achieve the ultimate goal of digitalization-informationization-intelligence.In the production chain,through the construction of a key equipment data model,a production site data collection,processing and feedback mechanism was established to realise the status data monitoring of key equipment such as thread rolling machines;based on collaborative filtering algorithms,intelligent decisions were executed through historical data to output key equipment maintenance and operation time and reduce the scrap rate of production lines;the application of the digital twin model in Company X was explored,and a simplified digital twin model of key equipment was constructed to realise the visual management of equipment.In the warehousing sector,to improve the current situation of serious backlog of work-inprocess and information silos between systems,the data of the enterprise's historical documents were extracted and processed through exponential smoothing,simulation technology to visualize and ROI evaluation indexes,etc.,and applied to the estimation of quantity on the demand side,intelligent order distribution in and out of warehouses and order priority measurement,etc.,to realize the information control of the warehousing logistics process through the information management system,thus completing the Intelligent decision-making research.In the information management link,this paper integrates the existing digital system of this enterprise,customises and develops a low-cost and highly compatible information management system,and based on the principle of economic processing of information and system usability index,quantitative analysis verifies the usability of this customised system,solving the problem of chaotic management and non-interoperability of departmental information in this enterprise.The optimisation study of the manufacturing system in this paper achieves the effective use of production data and strengthens the science of decision-making in the manufacturing process in a typical small and medium-sized discrete manufacturing enterprise,Company X.The improvements to the manufacturing system of Company X in this paper yielded a reduction in system non-value-added time of 0.88 days from the original 16.2 days,and an increase in process cycle efficiency of approximately 1%.The research results have some reference value for the digital development of small and medium-sized discrete manufacturing enterprises.
