As one of the traditional Chinese festivals,Dragon Boat Festival has a pivotal position in Chinese culture and has been listed as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2009.The traditional Dragon Boat Festival Elements,as an important representative of Chinese festival culture,has formed a profound cultural heritage in the process of costume development,thereby establishing an original artistic style of Chinese costume.On the other hand,Chinese aesthetic economy has stepped onto the historical stage with its new economic form.The inheritance and application of traditional culture have been playing an important role in our contemporary cultural cause,because the costume is an important carrier of cultural communication.Research on the application of traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival Elements in modern clothing is quite conducive to stimulate the vitality of traditional Dragon Boat Festival culture.Taking the context of Chinese aesthetic economy as the entry point and the application of traditional Dragon Boat Festival Elements in modern costume as its core,this research explores the application of Dragon Boat Festival Elements to modern costume design from both the theoretical and practical aspects.In the theoretical aspect,this research will systematically summarize traditional Dragon Boat Elements and analyze its artistic features through searching and studying the traditional literatures.While in the practical aspect,taking the context of Chinese aesthetic economy into consideration,this research will investigate its actual application to modern Hanfu,Neo-Chinese style and Chinese fashion trend and attempt to design new modern garments.The purpose of this research is to design and produce modern clothing and accessories which meet the requirements of the times and the needs of contemporary aesthetic needs,moreover,to explore the meaning and connotation of Dragon Boat Festival culture,to promote cultural inheritance and innovation,and to manifest the charm of traditional Dragon Boat culture.The innovation of this research lies in its systematical summarization of the traditional Dragon Boat Festival Elements and its artistic characteristics,and in the application practice of Dragon Boat Festival Elements to modern clothing design in the context of Chinese aesthetic economy,and in the realization of digital displaying of garments and immersive wearing experience of clothing items with the help of the virtual clothing modeling and AR technology.
