A Study Of Furniture Design In The Lifestyle Of Modern Chinese Literati

In modern times,the invasion of Western culture has led to a great change in Chinese society that has not been seen for a thousand years.This change has broken the feudal system of China for thousands of years and started the centuries-long modernization process,and the traditional Chinese culture has been disintegrated and reconstructed in the violent conflict and collision between Chinese and Western cultures.Throughout history,the literati class has always been exemplary in any era,and their ideology and culture represent the essence of the era.In the complex historical background of modern China,the middle class,represented by the literati,gradually westernized in thought and culture,and this westernization was further reflected in all aspects of the literati’s life,eventually forming a unique literati lifestyle in modern times.This paper analyzes the influence of Western culture on the modern literati and their way of life against the backdrop of modern society,and explores the collision,interweaving and integration of Chinese and Western cultures in furniture design under this influence.The study of modern furniture in the context of the literati’s way of life analyzes the development of modern furniture design from a cultural perspective and the potential influence of the literati’s way of life on furniture design.The article analyzes the specific forms of transformation of modern furniture,while arguing that it is the change in ideology and culture that is an important factor influencing design.
