| With the increase in overweight and obesity rates worldwide,the consumer demand for plussized women’s wear continues to expand,and many brands of plus-sized women’s wear have emerged at home and abroad to meet the market demand.However,compared with overseas countries,especially European and American countries,the development of plus-sized women’s wear in China is relatively imperfect.Among them,due to the lack of in-depth understanding of the body characteristics of obese women,there are deficiencies in the pattern-making and size specification design of plus-sized clothing,which has brought about the problem of fitting.The plus-sized dress form that meets the body characteristics of obese women in China provides practical reference for the design and production of plus-sized clothing,which is the demand of the plus-sized clothing brand,and it is also the problem that the body shape and dress form research must solve.Based on the cooperation with the company in the research of adult obese women’s body shapes and plus-sized dress form,this project launched a survey on the definition of the "plus size" in mainland China.Using the body data of adult obese women in mainland China provided by the company,the analysis of adult obese women’s body characteristics and classification research are carried out,a three-dimensional digital plus-sized dress form based on the intermediate data of adult obese women is constructed.The research content,methods and results are as follows:（1）Research on the definition of "plus size"Exploring the origin and meaning of the concept of "plus size" through literature research methods,and clarifying the criteria for determining "overweight" and "obesity" in the medical field that are in line with the actual physical conditions of the Chinese people;using a questionnaire survey method for the research on the mainland China women who wear plus-sized clothing about body shape awareness and dress preferences;use survey research methods to investigate the sizes of plus-sized women’s wear and regular-size women’s wear in mainland China.Based on this,this study proposes the body size definition range for plus-sized adult women that is in line with the actual situation in mainland China: BMI ≥ 24kg/m2 and bust circumference ≥ 96 cm and waist circumference ≥ 82 cm.（2）Analysis of body type characteristics of adult obese womenAccording to the definition of the body shape of adult obese women wearing plus-sized women’s clothing that meets the actual conditions in mainland China,based on the body data provided by the company of adult obese women that meets the definition,the measurement of each body part is extracted,and the body size data of adult obese women is tested for singular value and missing value,and normal distribution test.The body shape characteristics of adult obese women are studied through Rorher index,Vervaeck index,Pearson correlation analysis,and descriptive statistics.Comparing with the A-type intermediate body data and its contour defined in the Chinese national women’s clothing standard.（3）Body type classification of adult obese womenPerform factor analysis on the measurement data of various parts of the adult obese female body,and extract 6 common factors describing most of the body shape characteristic information of adult obese women.From the perspective of circumference,width,depth and body surface angel,categorical feature variables are extracted and integrated into 5 categorical indicators.Using grade interval division method,systematic clustering method,and K-means clustering method to classify adult obese women from body circumference,width,thickness,and angles respectively,the idea of stratification and cross-classification is adopted to classify adult obesity women’s body types.（4）Construction of "plus size" human platformBased on the adult obese female intermediate 3D human body data,the reverse engineering software Geomagic Wrap 2017 is used to process the 3D cloud data into an 3D human body model.With the help of the CREACOMPO II Torso system,based on the NURBS surface fitting principle,a 3D digital "plus-size" curved human dress form is modeling,and the fitting rules of the "plussize" dress form is put forward.In this study,the body shape definition scope of adult obese women who wear "plus-size" women’s dresses in line with the actual situation in mainland China was defined,the body shape analysis and classification of adult obese women further supplements the body shape characteristic theory of obese women,improves the classification method of obese body shape,and constructs 3D digital "plus-size" female dress form.Different from the modeling method of 3D human body model,the fitting modeling rules of "plus size" human body model are put forward,which provides a practical reference tool for the pattern design of "plus size" women’s clothing. |
