Ancient textile machinery, referred to as ancient loom.Ancient loom is the great creation of ancient ancestors. It is the accumulation of regional knowledge around the world for thousands of years. However, the relevant information is very fragmented, which greatly limits the cognition of textile technology enthusiasts and researchers on traditional machinery.Ancient looms need huge space to preserve, and also need many technical personnel to maintain. The display operation stage in the museum is narrow and the development space is limited, which limits the display of ancient looms. The future museum has the characteristics of “ digitalization ”,“ cloudization ”,and “ interaction ”,which can get rid of the limitations of space and personnel maintenance. It is a new display mode that combines knowledge, entertainment and interaction perfectly. Therefore,it is imperative to explore the interactive experience of ancient looms in future museums based on systematic knowledge and digital technology. The first research was carried out on the subject, and the relevant information and literature of ancient textile machines were consulted.Several museums such as Suzhou Silk Museum and China Silk Museum were visited, and the ancient textile machine studio of Mr.Zhu Jianming, the inheritor of ancient textile machine production technology in Suzhou, was visited on the spot. The ancient textile machine was mapped in detail, and the operation principle and mechanical principle of the ancient textile machine were mastered.Firstly,in order to realize the knowledge guidance or knowledge retrieval of ancient looms in virtual environment, this paper took the vertical loom as an example to construct the knowledge ontology of ancient looms, and establishes the mapping relationship between knowledge model and three-dimensional model, which provided theoretical support for the virtual visualization display and immersive interactive experience of ancient looms.Secondly, the 3D modeling tool was used to build the virtual interactive scene model.Six representative ancient weaving tools, silk reeling machine, spinning wheel, inclined loom, vertical loom,multi-heddle and multi-treadle loom, were selected for restoration and display, and the simulation model of ancient loom placement scene was constructed. And the model texture mapping and rendering, completed the ancient loom mechanical principle animation demonstration.Thirdly, the virtual interactive interface of ancient loom was designed. The handle ray interaction combined with gesture interaction was used as the interactive control mode of the platform.Through the feature extraction of gesture action defined in Leap Motion, the dynamic gesture recognition in the weaving experience was realized. Finally, guided by the analysis and mapping of ancient loom knowledge ontology, the interactive function of UI components and ancient loom entities in the virtual scene was realized, and the virtual weaving experience was carried out.The system development was completed by using HTC VIVE and Leap Motion equipment through unity3 d engine. Then, the feasibility test and subjective evaluation of the platform were carried out.In this study, the construction of knowledge ontology in the field of ancient looms and the virtual interactive system were integrated.Users can understand the knowledge of ancient looms and realize the interactive experience with ancient looms through knowledge guidance in the virtual space, which not only obtains a strong sense of immersion, but also deepens the understanding and memory of ancient loom knowledge. This study has important research significance in the display and interaction of intangible cultural heritage knowledge.
