In this paper, the 2015 cgsss China General Social Survey and well-being related data are used to match the provincial water pollution data.It is found that water pollution can significantly reduce the well-being of residents. The measurement results also show that environmental pollution has inequality. We found that the impact of water pollution on low-income and high-income groups is more significant.People in the East and West will be more negatively affected by water pollution.People in the higher social class will be more averse to the impact of environmental pollution. However, for the bottom of the society, the impact of water pollution on the self-esteem and well-being of this group is not clear. The impact of water pollution on happiness can affect their well-being by affecting their physical health and mood, but the main path is to affect their physical health and then their well-being,which is the same in different income groups.Whether in urban or rural areas, people’s normal work and life will be negatively affected by water pollution, which indicates that some respondents may stop working in the near future due to the impact of water pollution. In the pricing part,LSA(life satisfaction method)is used to calculate the discharge of ammonia nitrogen wastewater. It is found that the economic value of residents willing to pay for every 10000 tons of water pollution reduction is 10090.66 yuan.Different types of people have different willingness to pay. Those who are not satisfied with environmental protection and rural population are willing to pay more monetary value for water pollution. In a comprehensive way,the government can improve the impact of environmental pollution on Residents’ subjective well-being from three aspects: enhancing the awareness of water environment protection, enhancing social environment financing and strengthening the investment of environmental protection technology innovation...
