For a long time, economic development has resulted in a deterioration of the environment in China.Environmental quality is inextricably bound to the daily lives of people, which seriously affects residential living level. As environment continuously deteriorates, subjective well-being would even were continuing to decline. Therefore,in order to better improve people's livelihood, the rapid degeneration of environment has attracted widespread attention from government departments.During the 12 th FiveYear Plan period, the central government had proposed building a circular economy and increasing environmental protection. Then, after a long-time effort, has ecological environmental quality been effectively improved? Are citizens satisfied with the effectiveness of the current environmental governance? And how effective is the governance of environmental regulations? These issues have become a hot topic of all fields of society. To solve the above problems, based on the micro data come from Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)in 2010 to 2015 and the macro data in China, this paper uses ordinary least square(OLS),order probit(Oprobit),and mediation model to do the following work.Firstly, this paper explores the effects of environmental management and environmental pollution on subjective well-being,and further discusses differences among different economic base groups.Secondly, this paper distinguishes three different types of environmental regulations, namely economical environmental regulation, legal environmental regulation and supervised environmental regulation, and examines the heterogeneous influence of them on subjective well-being.In addition, considering the regional differences, the article further explores the differences in the specific effects in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern region of China. Finally, this paper also tests the transmission mechanisms of various environmental regulations on subjective well-being.The empirical results of the paper find that:(1)The current environmental pollution seems to be maintained within acceptable range, and the richer everyone gets, the worse environmental quality accept;(2)Environmental management can effectively improve the subjective well-being of residents, and groups with good economic foundations benefit more from it;(3)Economical environmental regulation and supervised environmental regulation could effectively improve subjective well-being,while legal environmental regulation has a nonlinear relationship with subjective wellbeing;(4)Different regions had different effects.Among them, supervised environmental regulation in the eastern and western regions are more effective, and legal environmental regulation in the northeast have better achievements, whereas three kinds of environmental regulations in the central region need to be improved all;(5)Green technology innovation, employment indicators, and physical health have an effective mediating effect between environmental regulations and subjective well-being,and green technology innovation has the best effect. In order to achieve the "environment-happiness" win-win situation, more different types of instruments are suggested to be designed properly. The government should continue to strengthen environmental governance and optimize environmental regulatory policy tools to further improve the environmental pollution and meet the needs of the masses.Local governments can design appropriate environmental regulations according to the actual situation and local conditions, improve the enforcement of formal regulations and measures, and create more avenues for public participation and pay enough attention to the supervision of the public. In addition, the government improve incentive system which can encourage enterprise's green technological innovation. This paper includes 15 figures,25 tables and 132 references.
