Field Investigation On The Earthenware Craft Of Hexing In Liangping,Chongqing

Folk handicraft is a part of the vast cultural heritage created by the continuous evolution of human civilization.Also,it is an ancient material civilization which has become more and more precious with time goes by.Earthenware production technology has a long history in China.Dali Village,Hexing Town,Liangping District has the reputation of "Hometown of Earthenware" due to its superior geographical position,which surrounded by mountains contained rich clay resources.Xu Shuxing,the Xu family of Group 7 of Dali Village,escaped to Dali Village,Hexing Town before liberation.Noticing that the soil contained in the village was suitable for firing top-grade pottery,he decided to reproduce and develop the earthenware technology passed down from generation to generation after living here.In 2011,the earthenware of Hexing,Liangping was listed in Chongqing intangible cultural heritage list.Generations of craftsmen still follow the traditional techniques taught by their ancestors,which never leaving a little record.Through the field investigation on the earthenware craft of Hexing,Liangping,this paper explores the simple visual characteristics of the earthenware,and analyzes the influence of multi culture on the visual characteristics of the earthenware of Hexing,Liangping.In this paper,Dali Village,Hexing Town,Liangping District,Chongqing is selected as the field investigation site.On the premise of drawing lessons from some achievements of the earthenware of Hexing,Liangping and combined with the first-hand materials of field investigation,the pottery making process,current situation,visual characteristics and inheritance and development of the earthenware of Hexing,Liangping are investigated and studied with the help of literature research,summary and induction,interview and other methods.In the process of research on the pottery making technology of the earthenware of Hexing,Liangping,this paper fully shows its actual situation and relevant characteristics,records the relationship between visual characteristics of some uniquetechnology methods and public aesthetics,analyzes the current situation of its near loss from the perspective of objective reality,and makes further evaluation and suggestions for its inheritance and future development.The earthenware of Hexing,Liangping is an excellent art work extracted by practice of local people through generations.This paper draws the conclusion that the earthenware craft of Hexing,Liangping is not an independent developing individual by taking the earthenware craft of Hexing,Liangping as the main research object.It is the product of Liangping’s superior natural environment and rich human history,and also closely related to the characteristics of the times.These factors have a great impact on the visual characteristics of the earthenware of Hexing,Liangping.Hoping that this study will help to understand the production process of this earthenware,help people to improve their understanding and love of its ancient civilization mark,and play a reference and guidance role in its future inheritance and development,so as to leave some valuable records for the local arts and crafts culture and broaden the basic research of local arts and crafts system.
