In order to find the research method suitable for the ecological footprint of regional animal husbandry,the sustainable development of animal husbandry in Zhalantun city was analyzed,ecological carrying capacity and ecological deficit(surplus)of animal husbandry in Zhalantun from 2013 to 2018 were calculated and analyzed by using the ecological footprint calculation method based on regional output and the ecological footprint calculation method based on GDP contribution rate.1.According to the calculation results of Ecological Footprint Based on regional output,the cultivated land footprint of various types of land in the ecological footprint of animal husbandry in Zhalantun in 2013-2018 was 5909.2538hm~2,which decreased to 27432.1247hm~2 in 2018,and reached 36976.522hm~2 in 2015,and the minimum value was 24834.2864hm~2 in 2017;the change of grassland footprint was not obvious,basically maintained at 270000hm~2 The ecological footprint of forest land changed from 2987.89hm~2 in 2013 to 3182.50hm~2 in 2018,which was the highest 3293.48hm~2 in 2016;the ecological footprint of pollution receiving land increased from 9364.94hm~2 in 2013 to 9541.93hm~2 in 2018,with the maximum value of9899.54hm~2 in 2017;the mi-nimum ecological footprint of water resource land of livestock pollutants in Zhalantun from 2013 to 2018 was the minimum value of 18650.23hm~2 in2016,with the maxium value of 198187.21hm~2 in 2015.From 2013 to 2018,the ecological carrying capacity of cultivated land was 10901.45hm~2,13105.53hm~2,14297.61hm~2,5759.36hm~2,26249.34hm~2 and 23994.13hm~2,respectively,the ecological carrying capacity of other types of land did not change much.According to the calculation results of ecological deficit(surplus)based on regional output,from the ratio of ecological footprint of animal husbandry to ecological carrying capacity of animal husbandry,the ratio of ecological footprint to ecological carrying capacity of other types of land except cultivated land is less than 1,the ratio of cultivated land is only less than 1 in 2017,and it is greater than 1 in other years,indicating that the ratio of ecological footprint to ecological carrying capacity of other types of land except cultivated land is less than 1 The ecological carryin-g capacity of animal husbandry in Zhalantun city can basically carry the ecological footprint of animal husbandry.2.Through the calculation and analysis of animal husbandry ecological footprint based on GDP contribution rate,it can be seen that the ecological footprint of animal husbandry in Zhalantun in 2013 was 335946.3354hm~2,and the ecological footprint of animal husbandry in2018 was 327819.6842hm~2,in which the ecological footprint of water resources accounted for more than 40%of the total ecological footprint.The calculation results of ecological carrying capacity based on GDP contribution rate showed that the ecological carrying capacity of animal husbandry in Zhalantun was 463770.7708hm~2 in 2013,increased to 704453.3066hm~2in 2018,and the minimum ecological carrying capacity was 439219.3242hm~2 in2016.According to the calculation results of ecological deficit(surplus)based on GDP contribution rate,it can be seen that the animal husbandry in Zhalantun is in ecological surplus state from 2013 to 2018.During the period,the ecological surplus of animal husbandry in 2013 was 127824.4354hm~2,the ecological surplus of animal husbandry in 2018 reached the maximum value of 376633.6224hm~2 in six years,and the minimum value of ecological surplus was 99552.1903hm~2 in 2015.3.According to the problems and challenges in the development of animal husbandry in Zhalantun,it is suggested that the following adjustments should be made:(1)to improve the food competition between animal husbandry and industry;(2)to optimize the industrial structure of animal husbandry;(3)to improve the production efficiency of animal husbandry;(4)to improve the treatment of animal husbandry pollutants.4.According to the calculation results of Ecological Footprint Based on regional output and contribution rate of GDP,the two different calculation methods of ecological footprint make up for each other to a certain extent.In the calculation of ecological footprint of animal husbandry,it is a good method to combine the two calculation methods.
