The core issue of the competitive strategy of an enterprise is how to deal with the five major competitiveness in the market competition and bring successful return on investment.The basic chemical industry belongs to the pillar industry of our country in the national economy.After decades of efforts,the domestic chemical industry has made considerable progress.S company is a benchmark enterprise in chemical industry,especially for its carbon four series product chain.Its carbon four series cover basic organic chemical products such as butadiene,isobutylene and polyisobutylene,with a wide range of users,providing important raw materials for the development of national economy.At present,the domestic and international political situation is complex and changeable,the domestic market is facing the situation of supply side reform and increasingly strict safety and environmental protection policies.These factors bring great uncertainty to the development of the carbon four series product chain in S company.At this critical moment,S company must further recognize the situation,develop its strengths and make up its weaknesses,so as to survive in such fierce industry competition.The thesis sorted out the strategic management theories for the carbon four series product chain in S company,analyzed and determined the competitive strategy suitable for the product chain.First of all,the internal resources and capabilities of the carbon four series product chain in S company were analyzed.Secondly,the external environment of the carbon four series product chain in S company was analyzed by PEST analysis model and Porter five forces competition model.Thirdly,through SWOT analysis,the competitive strategy based on the total cost leading strategy,assisted by the differentiation strategy and coordinated by the two strategies was determined,and the key points of strategy’s implementation were described.Finally,the specific guarantee measures from the aspects of organization,management,culture,technology and talents are described.Organization guarantee contains optimizing the organization structure and clarifying the strategic responsibilities of managers at all levels.Management guarantee contains clarifying the decision-making process and adjusting the performance appraisal mechanism of senior staffs.Cultural guarantee contains construction of enterprise culture with the core of safety and environmental protection,the expansion of multi-level cooperation with customers and comprehensive cultural output.Technical guarantee contains continuous technical investment,establishment of technical research groups at all levels,normalization of technical cooperation.Talent guarantee contains improving the importance of key positions and the structure of middle-level employees.It could be a reference in the application of competitive strategy in the field of basic chemicals.
