| Xinjiang is an important part of the arid/semi-arid region in China.With climate change and the intensification of human activities,ecological problems such as soil erosion,land desertification and pasture degradation have become more prominent,which seriously affects the ecological security and sustainable development.At the same time,urban ecological environment and urban economic development coordinate and balance with each other.The city becomes a complex syntheses that carries the production and life of human beings.Therefore,this study focuses on Xinjiang,the years 2000,2005,2010,2015 and 2018 as time points,and using econometrics,spatial morphology and ecological analysis methods to explore the space-time changes of ecological security in Xinjiang,the regional economic organization of Xinjiang towns and the space-time evolution of the expansion of construction land.In order to comprehensively depict the overall face of Xinjiang’s regional development,this study can provide a scientific basis for further regional sustainable development.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:1)From 2000 to 2018,the scope of town network in Xinjiang continued to expand,and the levels were significantly stratified.The spatial pattern is a single core layer structure with “Wuchangshi” town group as the core and decreasing step by step.The density of connection network slightly decrease,but the change is small.The regional connection of different town groups needs to be strengthened.The dominant direction of Xinjiang’s regional economic pattern is "northeast to southwest",and the core regions are concentrated in the central part of Tianshan Mountains,presenting a development pattern of "first-class super strength and dispersed cluster".The functional configuration of town group is constantly shifting,presenting a significant "siphon-effect".2)From 2000 to 2018,the construction land area of Xinjiang town group continued to grow,and the expansion rate showed a significant growth feature.Taking2010 as the turning point year,the area presented a relatively obvious change before and after the development.The expansion of construction land has obvious spatial difference characteristics,the northern border is superior to the southern border,especially the Tianshan North Slope urban group is the core area of the scale evolution of Xinjiang’s town group,and it is also the most significant area of the increase of construction land.3)From 2000 to 2018,the level of ecological security in Xinjiang was relatively stable.The level of ecological security land was mainly in ecological marginal areas,and the overall distribution pattern was higher in the west and lower in the east.The regions with higher ecological security level were mainly concentrated in the basin margins near mountains.It can be found that the level of ecological security of different town groups shows a downward trend,which is profoundly affected by human activities.In general,the northern is greater than the southern,and the western is greater than the eastern.In view of the situation of regional economic organization and ecological security in Xinjiang,human activities have a profound impact on the sustainable development of this region.Therefore,in the follow-up activities,we should promote the coordinated development of regional economy and ecological environment through reasonable regulation and scientific planning. |
