As an important carrier of nature and culture,the evolution of the river drives the city,and the development of the city in turn changes the river.With the rapid development of urbanization,people have more and more demands for rivers,which far exceed the carrying capacity of rivers.Rivers have to react on cities,and the ecosystem of the river basin has also become fragile.Compare that to cities in the humid climate zone in the south.The semi-arid cities are more closely related to the rivers,and their habitats are the most vulnerable because of the particularity caused by their climatic regions.Therefore,it is urgent to explore the ecological restoration path.But this is an area that is often overlooked by city builders.Therefore,this paper hopes to make up for this gap through sorting out ecological restoration strategies in semi-arid climate,integrating research of actual cases,and practical exploration.How to sort out a complete set of planning and design methods in ecological restoration and related concepts from macro,meso and micro perspectives? What are the characteristics of ecological restoration of urban water space in semi-arid areas? What is the overall design strategy? How the landscape integrates with the cold ecological technology,integrates with the surrounding city and natural space,and also becomes a part of people’s memory of the site.Firstly,this paper takes urban water space as the research object.From the point of view of landscape architecture discipline,to understand the water for the city and its surrounding space,which is formed by the overall scope,in addition to the water space of their own characteristics,has the function of the city due to urbanization and characteristics,contains both water space in city area,also includes affected by urbanization stronger semi-urban area surface rivers,channels,wetland and pits,As well as the lake and its surrounding space.Through field research,literature research,graphical analysis,comparative analysis and other means,the concept of urban water space,development context,research status and problems of urban water space system are sorted out.In this paper,the semi-arid river in the upper reaches of the Yellow River is taken as an example to analyze and summarize the characteristics of urban water space in the semi-arid region and the development problems it faces.Secondly,on the basis of the research on the existing problems of urban water space and urban water space in semi-arid areas,the paper further studies the water space from the perspective of river ecological restoration.Specifically,the research is carried out according to two main theories and practices related to river ecological restoration and river ecological restoration in semi-arid areas.The natural spatial characteristics and regulation measures of the semi-arid region in the upper reaches of the Yellow River are taken as an example to make a supplementary summary.Therefore,the ecological restoration path from macro to medium is analyzed and summarized for urban water space in semi-arid areas.Firstly,the problems at the level of nature and urban space are controlled as a whole.Secondly,the ecological restoration of the river itself is carried out through the study of the natural characteristics of the river.Finally,the theory of landscape architecture is applied to practice,taking the Jishi Mountain section of Xunhua County,which is located in the semi-arid valley sedimentary basin of the upper reaches of the Yellow River as an example,the overall design of the scheme is combined with theoretical research,and the feasibility of the theory is verified in practice.Specifically,at the macro level,including the natural space of urban water space in semi-arid areas,including the characteristics of geology,hydrology and vegetation space;In the medium and micro level,including the semi-arid special climate zone conditions,the implementation of ecological restoration,urban river relationship restoration strategy,as well as in the configuration of vegetation,landscape construction and other aspects of the particularity.Explore the common value of river ecology and landscape,and explore innovative design methods that are most suitable for the semi-arid waterfront landscape.Everything is designed to be more in line with the local,semi-arid natural,urban spatial characteristics of the moving landscape.
