| With the rise and development of Chinese cities, the structural contradictions of industrialization have gradually become prominent, and negative external phenomena have become increasingly significant.Under the dual carbon background, industrial carbon reduction has become an important task of China’s Carbon peak action plan.Digital economy is an important engine for green and low-carbon industrial transformation in China. It can promote industrial energy saving and carbon reduction by promoting optimal allocation of industrial resources and green knowledge sharing and exchange, providing a new path for promoting green urban industrial governance and improving urban industrial carbon productivity.Based on the total factor productivity theory,resource-based view, knowledge spillover theory, new economic geography and other theories, this paper takes the panel data of 284 cities in China from 2011 to 2018 as samples.Firstly, the unexpected superefficiency EBM model is used to measure the urban industrial carbon productivity.Gini coefficient method, and exploratory spatial data analysis were used to reveal the spatial disequilibrium, spatial and temporal pattern.Secondly, based on the digital economy level measured by entropy weight TOPSIS method, the static impact and effect heterogeneity of digital economy on industrial carbon productivity are explored, and the mediating effect model is selected to explore the bridge role of green knowledge spillover in the process of digital economy enabling urban industrial carbon productivity. Finally, the spatial spillover effect of digital economy on urban industrial carbon productivity is investigated by using spatial econometric model based on a variety of spatial weight matrices. The results are as follows:(1)Industrial technological progress is the main driving force of urban industrial carbon productivity, but the regional imbalance still exists. It shows a spatial pattern of wavy increase from southeast to northwest, and the spatial positive correlation and agglomeration coexist.(2)Digital economy can not only directly promote the improvement of urban industrial carbon productivity, but also indirectly improve urban industrial carbon productivity through green knowledge spillover effect. However, this carbon reduction effect is only reflected in non-resource cities and cities with high pollution monitoring level, high digitalization level and high industrial carbon productivity level.(3)Improving the level of digital economy can not only improve the industrial carbon productivity of the local city, but also promote the industrial carbon productivity of neighboring cities. It is found that the positive spillover effect still exists by constructing different spatial matrices. The above conclusions have the following policy implications:(1)The government should formulate industrial green emission reduction guidelines according to local conditions, increase industrial green technology input, provide dynamic support for eliminating regional imbalance, and realize the coordinated development of urban industrial green.(2)Increase the construction of digital economy, and form a green knowledge sharing and exchange network mechanism between cities, fully tap the carbon reduction potential of digital economy, reshape the urban development model to alleviate urban industrial pollution.(3)Attach importance to the spatial spillover effect of digital economy, get rid of the governance mode of “each fighting for its own”,use digital technology to build inter-city joint prevention and control system, break through geographical boundaries to form joint force of regional industrial carbon reduction. |
