In extreme cold weather,freezing phenomena were easy to occur in some parts of South China.If ice forms on the road surface,the vehicle was prone to slipping and rollover,it was easy to cause security problems.Under freezing conditions,the bond strength between the aggregate of asphalt mixture and the strength of the mixture will decrease greatly,which will damage the pavement structure.Up to now,the traditional pavement deicing method had many shortcomings,such as heavy workload,high energy consumption and poor environmental protection.Therefore,the concept of super-hydrophobic was introduced to improve the anti icing performance of pavement,which can be regarded as a solution to solve the problem that the asphalt pavement was easy to freeze and difficult to remove ice.In this paper,the anti-icing technology of pavement was summarized,the shortcomings of traditional deicing methods were analyzed.By introducing the concept of super-hydrophobic,the anti-icing functional layer of super-hydrophobic asphalt pavement was prepared.The following aspects as the theoretical direction:it can accelerate liquid drop,prolong ice time and reduce adhesion.The performances of anti-icing,road performance and durability were analyzed and compared through the hydrophobic performance test,frost proof performance test,skid resistance test and durability test.The following results were obtained in this paper:(1)Its surface energy can be as high as 50.14 mJ/m2.The contact angle on the surface of the super-hydrophobic asphalt pavement was 137.48°,and its surface energy was only 4.09 mJ/m2,the results showed that the surface with high contact angle has low surface energy;(2)Through the impact test,it indirectly indicates that the super-hydrophobic and anticoagulant ice functional layer can reduce the adhesion between ice and pavement;the average adhesion of super-hydrophobic specimen was measured by electronic digital tension meter,and the average adhesion of super-hydrophobic specimen surface was only 21.5%of the ordinary specimen;when the number of friction exceeds a certain degree,the contact angle decreases slightly,and gradually tends to be stable,which has good wear resistance;after 48h immersion test,super-hydrophobic functional layer still has a high contact angle,which shows excellent water resistance;(3)The anti-slide performance test showed super-hydrophobic anti-icing materials will reduce the pitch and depth of the asphalt pavement to a certain extent,The pendulum was reduced by 15.5%,and the depth of the structure decreased by 1.8%,which can still meet the relevant technical standards.(4)This paper relies on the Yongji Highway construction project,the construction technology of super-hydrophobic asphalt pavement anti-icing functional layer were briefly described,the economy of super-hydrophobic asphalt pavement anti-icing function layer were analyzed at the end of testing.The results show that the construction technology of super-hydrophobic asphalt pavement were simple,which also has a good economy at the same time.
