Road traffic safety is one of the most important issues around the world today.The winter snow and ice on the road surface pose a serious threat to the safety of vehicles.If the ice on the road surface can't be removed timely and effectively,it will not only affect the road traffic,but also bring great losses to people's lives and properties.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the economic,effective and harmless road anti-icing technology to ensure road safety and anti-skidding performance.Based on the analysis of the existing anti-icing technologies at home and abroad and their advantages and disadvantages,the concept of hydrophobic pavement was puts forward in the paper to ensure anti-icing and anti-skidding performance.Based on the principle of hydrophobic anti-coagulation ice method,influencing factors of the adhesion between ice and pavement were analyzed.Moreover,asphalt pavement with good hydrophobic anti-icing performance was developed through the indoor experiment,outdoor test section application and observation.In the paper,constructing theory of hydrophobic surface was analyzed firstlyaccording to the wettability theory.Then,the hydrophobic anticoagulant emulsified asphalt was prepared in the laboratory,and its hydrophobicity,anti-icing and related road performance were analyzed in depth.Moreover,the evaluation methods and indicators of hydrophobic coating were discussed,and the adhesion between emulsified asphalt and various kinds of aggregates were investigated at the same time.Lastly,the hydrophobic emulsified asphalt was further applied to the slurry mixture to form a seal layer with hydrophobic function.Finally,the interfacial applicability,durability and construction technique were analyzed and summarized.Through the experimental study,a hydrophobic agent with good compatibility with emulsified asphalt was selected;By means of contact Angle detector,the factors affecting the hydrophobic effect,such as the fineness of the hydrophobic agent,the agent amount and adding process were studied.The results show that the factors such as fineness of the hydrophobic agent,the agent amount and adding process have significant influence on the hydrophobicity of the hydrophobic asphalt,however,when the fineness,the agent amount to a certain extent,the hydrophobic improvement degree gradually decreased;Through the interlaminar shear test and indoor anti-icing test,in the recommended the spreading content of hydrophobic asphalt,0.3kg/m2,was recommended.With this spreadiong content,hydrophobic asphalt can reduce the bond strength between pavement and ice,making it easier to break the ice.In this condition,the adhesion strength between pavement and ice decreased by about 40%;The hydrophobic coating will slightly reduce the resistance of the road,but it still meets the specification requirement;The addition of the interfacial agent can significantly improve the adhesion between emulsified asphalt and aggregates.It is able to make the hydrophobic coating and hydrophobic layer more suitable for different surface conditions and enhances its durability.The hydrophobic layer has strong adaptability to the interface and can adapt to unfavorable interface conditions.The hydrophobic layer shows superior performance.The adhension is better than that of the normal micro-surfacing mixtures.After the wear,the hydrophobic layer still retains good hydrophobicity.The research results show that hydrophobic asphalt pavement has good hydrophobicity,anti-icing,durability and impermeability,etc.It also helps to reduce the bonding strength between the road surface and the ice layer,so that it is easier to remove snow and ice on the surface of the road.All shows that the hydrophobic anti-icing pavement has good hydrophobicity and de-icing effect,both in indoor laboratory tests and on trial sections.
