As an important equipment for transporting bulk materials,belt conveyor is widely used in many fields.Among them,plane turning belt conveyor is a kind of conveyor widely used.Therefore,it is imperative to improve the design level of conveyor belt in the turning section.This topic takes the conveyor belt in the turning section as the research object.On the basis of analyzing the stress problem of the conveyor belt in the turning section,this paper applies discrete element theory,mechanics theory,EDM-FEM coupling algorithm,mechanical design theory and other relevant principles,focusing on exploring the main factors affecting the stress of the conveyor belt and the distribution of forces in the direction of bandwidth.When deformation analysis of conveyor belt is carried out,it is regarded as orthotropic thin plate subjected to both vertical and horizontal loads at the same time,and the difference form of differential equation is solved.When the conveyor belt turns horizontally,uneven deformation will occur,resulting in the redistribution of conveyor belt stress in the direction of bandwidth.The maximum and minimum stress values of the conveyor belt in the horizontal bending section are obtained through deformation analysis of the conveyor belt in the horizontal bending section,and the calculation formulas of stress values at each position of the conveyor belt in the turning section are derived.The stress distribution diagram of the conveyor belt in the width direction is drawn,and the influence of slot Angle and turning radius on the stress distribution is explored.The finite element software ANSYS was used to establish the finite element model of the conveyor belt in the turning section,and the stress of the conveyor belt was analyzed.It was concluded that the stress was constantly changing in the direction of the belt bandwidth,and the stress on the outside of the turning was the greatest,while the stress on the inside was the least.The influence of tension,turning radius and slot Angle on the stress distribution of the conveyor belt is explored,and the stress distribution on the conveyor belt section under different idlers arrangement is studied according to engineering examples.In order to further simulate the actual working condition,the EDM-FEM method was used to analyze the stress of the conveyor belt in the turning section.The EDM-FEM model was established according to the parameters such as traffic volume and turning radius in the actual transportation condition,and the load information of materials was loaded on the conveyor belt through the coupling channel of EDM-ANSYS Workbench to complete the stress analysis of the conveyor belt in the turning section.The stress distribution of the conveyor belt in the turning section under two different loads was compared.With the increase of load,the stress value also increased,and the stress distribution law was the same under different loads.Finally,the hardware of the experimental device is selected,the cantilever beam test system is designed,and the strain gauge cantilever beam calibration test is carried out.The results show that the experimental test data are in good agreement with the theoretical data,proving the feasibility of the test system.Design the stress test system and test process of the conveyor belt in the turning section,build the test bench,use the strain gauge to test and analyze and sort out the experimental data,and finally compare the test results with the simulation results.It is concluded that the experimental stress value is larger than the simulation value,and the variation trend of the stress is basically consistent with the simulation result.The results show that it is feasible to test the stress in the turning section of the conveyor belt with the strain gauge,which has a guiding role in the design of the conveyor belt.
