Because of the good trafficability and versatility,rotary telescopic handler is more and more popular in the market,and it is gradually applied in ports,farms and construction sites.At the same time,users have higher and higher requirements on its stability and security.As a very important safety performance index,stability is closely related to the design of outriggers.Due to the complex and changeable working environment of telescopic handler,arbitrary support is often required,and the existing outriggers are unable to achieve arbitrary support,in order to improve the safety and environmental adaptability of rotary telescopic handler,in this paper,a new design scheme of outrigger is put forward on the base of actual situation,which is suitable for the rotary telescopic handler.In addition,the influence of the ground conditions and the load distribution of the outriggers on the stability of the rotary telescopic handler loading operation is analyzed.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)This paper first combines the characteristics of the existing outriggers,integrates the functions of different types of outriggers,and puts forward a new type of folding telescopic outriggers,which can support the rotary telescopic handler arbitrarily and realize the long-span support without increasing the original vehicle width and changing the original vehicle trafficability.In this paper,the structural design of the outrigger is described in detail.(2)In this paper,two working conditions are proposed:flat operation and 5°slope operation.Then,the static analysis of the designed outrigger is carried out by using Workbench software platform,the structural strength is tested,and the high stress and easily damaged area is reinforced.(3)In this paper,the eigenvalue buckling analysis,geometric nonlinear buckling analysis and dynamics analysis of the outrigger structure are carried out by using Workbench.The buckling stability of the outrigger under different conditions is tested by different load conditions.The analysis shows that the buckling resistance of the outrigger will decrease obviously after considering the initial defects of the structure.(4)The permeability value generated by IMPACT of contact function in ADAMS is used to simulate the ground subsidence,and the influence of ground conditions and load distribution of outriggers on the stability of telescopic handler is analyzed.The results show that the ground subsidence has a great influence on the stability of telescopic handler,and the easy sinking ground plus "virtual legs" is extremely adverse to the stability of telescopic handler.Reasonable load distribution can effectively improve the stability of the whole vehicle.At the same time,it is also proved that if the telescopic handler is not controlled after the initial leveling,three support conditions will inevitably appear in the operation process.At last,the formula of four point asymmetric leg reaction which is suitable for telescopic handler is derived by using the deformation compatibility equation.The formula can theoretically analyze when the vehicle appears three-point support.
