The research on underwater acoustic scattering characteristics of large underwater vehicles such as submarines has been a research hotspot in the field. The submarine can be divided into multiple substructures.Different substructures have different contributions to the acoustic scattering characteristics of the submarine, and need to be analyzed separately. Therefore, this paper mainly calculates and analyzes the influence of different substructures on the acoustic scattering characteristics of submarines, and calculates the contribution of each substructure to the target strength of the whole submarine in different frequency.First of all,it’s introduced that the existing main methods for solving underwater acoustic scattering targets in the paper. It mainly introduces the finite element method, boundary element method, and physical acoustic method. It introduces the FEM+BEM and plane element that used in this paper in detail. This paper uses the FEM+BEM of COMSOL Multiphysics 5.3a software to perform low frequency simulation calculations, and uses plane element to analyze and calculate the acoustic scattering characteristics in the middle and high frequency.Simple structures such as rigid spheres, rigid cylinders, rigid cones, and elastic spherical shells were used to verify the accuracy of the FEM+BEM and the plate element method.Next,it’s introduced that the Benchmark submarine model in the paper, and the full-band acoustic scattering characteristics of a single substructure of the submarine are calculated. The paper introduces the synthetic theory of target strength, and introduces the spatial parameter evaluation method of target strength. In the paper, the full-band sound scattering characteristics of the Benchmark submarine are calculated that coupled with multiple substructures are calculated, and the acoustic scattering characteristics of the entire submarine. It’s analyzed that influence of different substructure couplings on the target intensity of the submarine in different frequency bands.
