The short-term optimal operation of cascade reservoirs is a non-convex optimization problem with nonlinear,multi coupling and extremely complex constraints.With the acceleration of hydropower development in China in recent years,the scale of cascade reservoirs in major hydropower bases has taken shape,which poses a new challenge to the construction and solution of the short-term optimal operation model of cascade reservoirs.This paper focuses on the short-term optimal operation of cascade reservoirs in the basin under the background of the rapid development of large-scale hydropower bases,using operations research,hydropower energy science,heuristic optimization algorithm as the research basis,using the combination of engineering examples and dynamic system modeling and simulation technology as the research method,to build and solve the short-term optimal operation model of cascade reservoirs related research.The main research contents and achievements are as follows:(1)An improved whale algorithm is proposed.On the basis of the standard whale algorithm,three improvement measures are adopted,including replacing the original global search strategy with crossover operation and mutation operation in differential evolution algorithm,using adaptive parameters and introducing elite set,to improve the global exploration ability of the algorithm and the utilization efficiency of the excellent information of the population,and to increase the convergence speed and solution accuracy of the algorithm.(2)This paper proposes a technical route for efficient solution of economic operation in the power plant,which uses the regression fitting method of dynamic characteristic surface of the whole station to replace the process of unit load optimization and distribution,and uses heuristic strategy to optimize unit combination,which effectively improves the solution speed of the economic operation model in the power plant on the premise of ensuring a small loss of calculation accuracy.(3)The improved whale algorithm is applied to solve the short-term optimal operation of cascade reservoirs,and the actual historical data of Jinguan power supply group is taken as an example to solve the model.The results of data analysis show that the improved whale algorithm performs well in the solution of the model,with high accuracy and convergence speed.
