The railway station is both an important transportation hub for the city and a major activity site for tourists.The railway station square is the spatial node of the city to collect and distribute high-density passenger and vehicle flows,and is the link between the railway station and the urban space,which should have the dual function of efficiently organizing the traffic and providing space for activities for tourists.As the main service object of the railway station square,the activity experience of passengers is the part of the square space layout that needs to be considered.This thesis explores the connotation of humanized design quality of railway station square from passengers’ experience of railway station square,and provides reference for creating railway station square space that meets passengers’ needs.This thesis explores the connotation of humanized design quality of railway station square from the passengers’ experience of railway station square,and provides reference for the creation of railway station square space that meets the passengers’ needs.On the basis of humanized design and other related theories,through field surveys,quantitative analysis,logical reasoning and other methods,taking Wuchang Station,Hankou Station and Wuhan Station(referred to as: Wuhan Three Stations)as an example to explore the spatial environment features of railway passenger station.It is related to the quality of humanized design,and attempts to propose a humanized design strategy for space.Firstly,the objective indicators of the spatial environment of the railway station square and the subjective evaluation of the square by travellers are proposed in combination with existing research and theory,and the elements are extracted into five spatial environment variables:spatial form,physical environment,ease of use,service facilities and landscape environment.Secondly,through on-site research and statistical induction,the spatial environment of the three squares are analyzed and compared horizontally from three levels: macro,meso and micro,and the spatial environment characteristics of each square are obtained.Finally,a structural equation model is used to correlate the data of the passenger satisfaction questionnaire,explore the mechanism of the influence of each variable on the quality of the humanized design of the square,and propose an optimization design strategy in combination with spatial environment characteristics.The study concluded: First,the landscape environment is the spatial environment element that has the greatest impact on passenger satisfaction,among which,through the optimization of the layout of the surrounding environment,ground paving,green space scale and the richness of landscape vignettes,it can effectively improve the humanized design quality of the railway station square.Secondly,the three elements of convenience,spatial form and landscape environment are clearly related to each other,and by optimizing the above three elements,visitors’ satisfaction with the overall humane design quality of the square can be effectively enhanced.Thirdly,the humanized design strategy for railway station squares should be proposed in terms of the functional positioning and environmental connection at the macro level,the overall form and flow distribution at the mesoscopic level,the location and type layout of facilities at the micro level,and the optimization design measures for Wuhan’s three station squares in terms of passenger satisfaction and spatial environmental characteristics.
