China’s Tibetan population is vast, divided into three major Tibetan areas, namely Wei Tibetan,Kham and Amdo.If divided by provincial level, there are Tibet,Qinghai,Gansu,Sichuan and Yunnan. The stone-built dwelling houses of the Tibetans are representative of their national culture and architectural types, and are also one of the important components of China’s traditional residential types and diverse rural architecture. It is produced under the harsh natural environment and backward production technology conditions, adapts to the climatic conditions in high-altitude cold regions, has a distinctive regional ecological concept and the construction wisdom of the Tibetan people. The construction materials are selected from local resources and built with local stones. It was built with a shape similar to that of a bunker,so it was named a mortuary. The Tongtian River Basin is mainly located in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the Tibetan area of Qinghai, which belongs to the Kham Tibetan area.At present, there are many traditional villages composed of stone masonry houses in the basin. They carry the construction wisdom of Tibetan culture and Tibetan architecture in the area, and they can also reflect the lifestyle, construction forms and technology affected by the natural environment and production conditions.Characteristics,etc.In recent years, due to the impact of urbanization development, most villages have been severely deserted, and stone masonry houses have been damaged to varying degrees.Local villagers failed to take effective protective measures in a timely and effective1 This research was supported by the 2019 Open Fund Program of the Key Laboratory of Plateau Green Buildings and Ecological Communities in Qinghai Province.Project name: Research on the Coordinated Development Mechanism and Evaluation Index System of Rural Systems in the Three River Source Region,Project Number: KLKF-2019-006.manner,resulting in a certain degree of damage to their material carriers, and the historical culture, construction skills, etc.contained therein gradually disappeared. Therefore, this article takes the traditional Tibetan stone masonry houses in the Tongtian River Basin as the research object, studies its construction techniques, and explores the process flow, technical characteristics, influencing factors, and the value of protection and inheritance in its construction techniques. And inheritance propose scientific and effective strategies. This research will be divided into three parts. The first part is mainly the first chapter and the second chapter. The background data of Tibetan stone masonry dwelling houses in the Tongtian River Basin were systematically analyzed and combed.Using literature review and field investigation methods, combined with other related theories,to understand the existing situation of the Tibetan stone masonry building in the Tongtian River Basin, and explore related issues such as its background, research purpose and significance. It also conducts research from the area’s natural and human environment,stone-built stilt houses, stilt houses and lifestyles. The purpose and significance of protecting and inheriting the Tibetan stone masonry houses in this area are systematically summarized, and the relevant research materials are combined to provide a theoretical basis for further research. The second part,Chapters 3,4 and 5,is the core part of the thesis.Through field surveys and visit records of many traditional stone-built stilt houses in the Tongtian River Basin.Systematic integration and exploration of materials, environmental factors and bearing information related to the traditional stone masonry building construction techniques in this area.Taking the stone masonry building as the entry point,a comprehensive analysis of the stone masonry building construction techniques is conducted.Comb the entire construction process of stone masonry houses and the practices of various parts, explore the factors that have affected the development of construction technology in the past, and systematically summarize the process, technical points and deficiencies of stone masonry houses. And by analyzing the value of the traditional stone masonry building construction technology, the problems of its protection and current situation are analyzed. On the basis of drawing on relevant technical achievements and excellent cases, combining with the practical strategies of scientific research topics,it proposes scientific and effective protection and inheritance strategies and measures. The third part is the conclusion part of the thesis. This paper systematically sorts out and records the process flow and practices of the construction skills of the Diaofang Diaofangfang through the research on the construction skills of the Tibetan stone masonry architecture in the Tongtian River Basin. At the same time, combined with modern technology to optimize the traditional construction skills,in order to provide reference for the protection and repair of traditional stone masonry houses in the future. And use these optimized construction techniques in the new stone masonry houses,or expand the wisdom of construction in traditional stone masonry houses to other architectural design fields. It also effectively protected and inherited the local Tibetan stone-built dwelling houses and their construction skills, and inherited their traditional construction techniques and construction wisdom.
