Research On The Spatial Elements And Design Of The Living Streets In The Old City Of Xi’an

In recent years,most cities in China are actively promoting urban repair work,immersed in the renewal of the old city and the tide of infrastructure construction in the new city.However,the streets that are closely related to our daily life still use motor vehicles as the main body,giving priority to the main functions of fast and effective communication,and neglecting the needs of daily activities.This article focuses on living streets that are widely existing in cities as research objects,discusses how to build vibrant and competitive street spaces,and tries to explore a followable path for future urban construction management.This article first reviews the evolution of urban street space and related concepts and theories of living streets.Subsequently,the space elements,functional elements and characteristics of living streets are summarized,and five principles of living street space design are proposed from this: chronic connectivity,open interface,diversity,orderly functions,and cultural expression;and seven types Shaping methods: enhance the functional composition along the street,the combination of the facade and the street,integrate and update the street facilities,control the building to shape the interface,set up an information interaction system,shape features to form features,and assist transportation coordination.Finally,according to the above principles and methods,a survey of living streets in the old city of Xi’an was conducted to summarize their current status and characteristics.Three typical streets were selected for targeted spatial surveys,and suggestions for living street optimization based on the old city of Xi’an were proposed.: 1.Formulate refined on-street parking norms according to the situation and open the slow corridors on the street;2.Reasonably plan the first and second contour lines of the street,set up street facilities in order,and shape streets with good interfaces;3.Encourage The public participates in street activities,exerts initiative,and breaks through space restrictions;4.Under the premise of ensuring space safety,excavate the space in living streets and supplement the street green space;5.Endow the street cultural connotation,stimulate the residents’ identity,and display the street charm.Based on the five optimization suggestions,relevant local scheme design and exploration were carried out.This article looks forward to the results of the study,which can improve the quality of urban public space,return living streets to the public,and meet the public’s daily needs for urban space.
