Research On Public Space Renewal Of Old Communities In Shinan District Of Qingdao From The Perspective Of Daily Life

At the present stage,urban development is transforming from "incremental expansion" to "stock optimization".The existing old communities in the 1980 s and 1990 s,as an important part of the urban stock space,have obviously become one of the keys to this transformation.For old communities,public space is the basis and result of residents’ actions in time and space.Therefore,we need to pay attention to daily life and place residents and their daily life experience at the core of professional values.This paper returns the research perspective to daily life,takes the public space of the old community as the research object,and selects the typical representative old communities in Shinan District of Qingdao as research samples.On the basis of constructing a theoretical framework,take focusing on public space and residents’ daily life of communities as starting point,analyze existing problems in public space,follow residents’ daily life logic,and propose targeted renewal strategies.First of all,by analyzing the geographical distribution and the supplied level of public space of old communities in Shinan District of Qingdao to select the research objects.Obtain the data information of old communities through quantitative analysis,and analyze the geographical distribution of old communities in combination with the area planning of Shinan District of Qingdao City.Calculate and analyze the two indicators of public space supply of old communities,namely,density of public space and area of public space per household is not strongly correlated due to the influence of house-type factors.Therefore,the determination of the survey object must take into account the two indicators and geographical distribution.Secondly,investigate the selected old communities on the spot in both public space and daily life aspects.The former mainly uses methods such as field mapping to be investigated and analyzed on the spatial layout,types and components.Take them as the basis for the current status of the public space renewal in old communities.The latter mainly uses methods such as behavior observations and interview to investigate and analyse users of public space and daily routines of them.Gain insights into residents’ behavior habits,preferences,and life wisdom,and use as a practical basis for the renewal of community public spaces.Based on the analysis of the public space and current status of daily life in old communities,summarize the behavior characteristics under different space types.Based on this,four major problems existing in the public space of the old communities from the perspective of daily life are proposed,namely,insufficient public space function diversity,negative treatment of debris space and corner wasteland,timespace behavior and spatial layout mismatch,and weak community catalyst effect.Finally,based on the existing problems and combined with the daily life of residents,propose a returning to daily life and people-oriented renewal value orientation.And under the guidance of the four renewal principles,namely,common sense recognition,pluralistic mixing,flexible reservation and "weak" design,diversified synthesis of communities’ public space functions,the integration and regeneration of fragmented spaces and abandoned corners,the multi-dimensional restoration of the layout and texture of community public spaces,catalyst guidance and four strategies of designing are proposed.Among them,from diversified and comprehensive perspective of communities’ public space functions,the superposition of functions and the improvement of existing functions are proposed.And the effective use of debris space and the activation of corner waste land are proposed from the perspective of the integration and regeneration of debris space and corner waste land.From the perspective of multi-dimensional restoration of communities’ public space layout texture,propose horizontal space dimension layout restoration,vertical space dimension layout restoration,and shared space dimension layout restoration.From the perspective of catalyst guidance and design,propose to improve the necessary and convenient facilities,creative micro facilities and facilities that trigger site activities.Taking the City Hospital Community dormitory as an example,the road space,courtyard space and square space are renewed and practiced to provide a certain reference for the renewal design practice of public space in the old communities,in order to better match the public space of the old communities with daily life of residents.
