Study On Traditional Village Forms And Dwellings In Xintian County,Yongzhou

As the junction of Yongzhou,Chenzhou and Hengyang in the south of Hunan Province,Xintian County has become an indispensable part of Huxiang culture due to its special geographical location,climate and settlement habits.In order to protect the traditional villages in Xintian County from continuing to be damaged,people’s homesickness can be traced.Through research and on-site investigations,research results in multidisciplinary fields are integrated,and research on traditional village forms and houses is carried out.For the nine traditional villages in Xintian County,the research content mainly focuses on the reasons for the formation of the village,the shape of the village,the shape of the residential buildings and the characteristics of the detailed decoration,trying to find out the connections and cultural origins behind them.Investigate and analyze the basic situation of natural geography,historical evolution,economic life and human customs in Xintian County,and sort out the current traditional villages in Xintian County,Yongzhou from the humanities profile,natural topography,spatial form,village size,and site selection from the village.The layout of the village is analyzed in three aspects: the layout of the village and the spatial elements of the village form.Influenced by the topography and traditional Feng Shui culture,the site selection of Xintian County is very concerned about the Fengshui pattern.It is based on mountains and rivers,and it is a combination of three kinds of layouts: dendritic,radial and grid.The space and the surface space are flexible,orderly and varied.Surveying and contrasting the typical dwellings in traditional villages,combining the characteristics of plane form,fa?ade features and residential function space;analyzing the decoration and construction methods of different building elements such as doors,windows,beams and columns;Construction techniques such as building structure,ventilation and lighting,water supply and drainage,fire prevention and theft.Immigration culture has created the characteristics of the village form and construction in Xintian County.A large number of immigrants have brought the culture of Yongzhou region into a tangible or intangible cultural concept of the Central Plains,Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Hakka people.Immigration culture brings a variety of folk culture and characteristic production and life styles,forming a specific local cultural character,and also affects the village’s form,architectural form,decorative style and construction technology.
