| BIM(Building Information Modeling)technology has enjoyed rapid development in recent years.It is also being applied to engineering quantity calculation.Regarding its current functions and development prospects,applying BIM technology to managing construction prices significantly improves work efficiency.Meanwhile,it frees business managerial staff from the heavy task of engineering quantity calculation,so that they can spend more energy on controlling costs.However,the function of BIM-based engineering quantity calculation remains incomplete.Also,much foreign software has not been localized according to Chinese standards.Thus the final calculation results fail to meet the requirements of Bill of Quantities.Furthermore,there is a gap between the accuracy of BIM-based engineering quantity calculation and the real demand due to the setting of calculation rules.This situation hinders the in-depth application of BIM technology in managing the construction prices of Chinese construction projects.The research started with the real demands for engineering quantity calculation and considered the problems faced by traditional calculation software.BIM model is characterized by integrating and visualizing the information of engineering quantity.The research thus put forward a more efficient mode for calculation,made a practical technical plan,and developed the engineering quantity calculation system based on Revit software.The BIM model was used for achieving a multi-disciplinary,efficient,and highly-accurate calculation of engineering quantity.The research mainly consists of two parts.(1)Multi-disciplinary and fast modeling: Firstly,CAD was used to automatically abstract the layer information.Meanwhile,the Revit model was used to catch the 3-D spatial relationship intelligently.Next,the information and the relationship were combined to make fast modeling for architecture,structure,reinforcing steel bars,electromechanical equipment,decoration,and protection measures.(2)Multi-disciplinary accurate measurement: The BIM data mapping & coding technology suited for engineering quantity calculation was used to identify mode components,achieve the data matching between BIM model components and the coding of the bill.Next,inbuilt calculation rules and formulas were combined to replace the actual calculation quantity with the physical quantity.Eventually,it output the multi-disciplinary bill of quantities that meet the domestic norms on the bill of quantities.According to research findings,BIM-based engineering quantity calculation software can calculate multi-disciplinary engineering quantity through fast modeling and the calculation model that combined 2-D graphic data and BIM model.It significantly improves the efficiency of engineering calculation and enhances the ability of construction price management in a project. |
