| With the development of technological and industrial revolution,economic development has stepped into the ’new normal’ in China.An urgent need is to develop a new national competitive advantage,realizing the transformation to a manufacturing powerhouse.Manufacturing is the main body of the national economy,which take the great importance of the economy and society.Promoting the equipment manufacturing industry is the key to develop the manufacturing.Therefore,the study of the equipment manufacturing industry has always been a focus of attention in China.In recent years,China actively cooperated with the international market.The equipment manufacturing industry has a more complete structural system,a higher level and a stronger international competitiveness.But the industry still has such problems as weak independent innovation ability and unbalanced regional industrial structure,etc.And there is a big gap in the export competitiveness and the status of value chain compared with main developed countries.With the internal driving force of economic growth,technological innovation is also the source of breakthrough transformation and excellent international competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry.At the same time,the export complexity can accurately measure the technical content of the product and reveal the position of the industry in the international economic market.Therefore,this paper focuses on the impact of China’s technological innovation on the export complexity of equipment manufacturing industry,which is of great positive significance to transformation of equipment manufacturing industry development mode,the promotion of industrial structure upgrading and comprehensive strength.In this paper,we study and comb the complexity about export measure method and the influence factors of relevant literature.Based on China’s technology innovation and the present export situation of equipment manufacturing industry,firstly,we take the comparative analysis method to analyze the impact of technological innovation on the export complexity of equipment manufacturing industry in different regions and sub-industries.Secondly,Combining the methods of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,we further study that the technical innovation is how to improve export complexity in equipment manufacturing industry.Furthermore,we provide targeted suggestions.This paper has the following chapters:chapter one,introduction.This part introduces the research background and significance,literature review,research methods and content,and points out the innovations and shortcomings.Chapter two,the definition and related theories.This chapter defines the concept of equipment manufacturing industry and the connotation of export complexity.It also sorts out relevant economic and trade theories such as technology innovation theory,endogenous growth theory,dynamic comparative advantage theory and new new trade theory,which are laying a theoretical foundation.Chapter three,technological innovation and export status of equipment manufacturing industry.This chapter mainly uses the method of quantitative analysis to analyze the current situation from the aspects of overall situation,regional difference,industry distribution and international comparison.Chapter four,measure the export complexity of equipment manufacturing industry.Based on the above theoretical analysis,the export complexity is calculated in the industrial and regional perspectives.The changing trend of export complexity and distribution characteristics between industries and regions are further studied and analyzed.Chapter five,the mechanism and empirical analysis on the influence of technological innovation on export complexity.This chapter makes a qualitative analysis of the action mechanism and influencing factors of export complexity,and empirically tests each influencing factor with the panel data of 30 provinces and cities from 2009 to 2016,and then summarizes and analyzes the results.Chapter six,conclusions and recommendations.Based on the conclusions of qualitative analysis and empirical analysis in the previous chapter,the paper puts forward feasible policy suggestions.The research results show that:firstly,China’s technological innovation level develops rapidly,but the international competitiveness is lower than other main developed countries.At the same time,there are serious regional differences in China,which are manifested in the pattern of east stronger than west.Secondly,China’s equipment manufacturing industry is developing rapidly in production and export trade,but it is still facing technical bottlenecks and unbalanced regional and industrial development.Thirdly,technological innovation is an important way to promote the export complexity of the equipment manufacturing industry.The number of valid patent applications has a positive impact on increasing the export complexity.However,technology introduction contracts have a small influence and cannot fundamentally improve the industrial technology content and value chain position.Independent technological innovation is the long-term driving force.Fourthly,the impact of technological innovation on the export complexity of different sectors have different effects on export complexity.The number of valid patent applications has a great impact on the export complexity of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing,instrumentation manufacturing and metal products manufacturing,but a relatively small impact on special equipment manufacturing. |
