| Traditional private gardens in Hangzhou took shape in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, flourished in the Southern Song Dynasty and developed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and their location and construction were influenced by landscape patterns and were unique and worthy of in-depth study. At present there are still physical remains of traditional private gardens built in the Ming and Qing dynasties, through field investigation found that most of the nature of the land has changed, the original value of the loss of serious. Therefore, through historical data collection and field research, and based on the value assessment and the richness of historical data, this paper selects Liu Zhuang,Zhusuyuan,Xiaoyoutian Garden,Hu Xueyan’s former residence and Guo Zhuang among the surviving traditional private gardens in Hangzhou as research objects,in order to improve the theoretical system of private gardens in Hangzhou and provide case references for future research. The specific results are as follows.(1)Liu Zhuang and Zhusu Garden were taken as planar restoration objects.First of all, based on historical data, the garden overview was organized, including the history and value of the garden;secondly, based on field research,an objective knowledge of the current status of the remains, the garden site and the external environment was generated;thirdly, the structure of the spatial units of the garden was obtained through the extraction of information from historical data and graphic comparison. In the research process,it was found that due to the large area and complex spatial units,it was difficult to obtain accurate planes in Liu Zhuang,so the final results were presented in a topological relationship diagram. The restoration of Zhusu Garden is based on a more solid foundation, and therefore a more detailed plan restoration is carried out. Both Liu Zhuang and Zhusu Garden are based on rivers and lakes, but due to their different sizes, the layout of the gardens differed in style. The layout of Liu Zhuang’s gardens was free, with the West Lake as an important influence, while that of Zhusu Garden was inward-facing,with the orientation of the buildings influenced more by the water in the garden.(2)Taking the layout and structure of Small You Tian Yuan as a starting point,it is concluded that:the layout of the gardens is based on the mountains, and there is a high fluidity between the gardens and the external environment;the organization of the landscape sight lines is aimed at borrowing the scenery, which greatly expands the visual space of the gardens;the scenery is created by using the current situation of the base site, and it is slightly operated to make the landscape rich in layers;the scenery atmosphere reflects the influence of the mountain environment.(3)The study of Guo Zhuang and Hu Xueyan’s former residence is based on the results of reconstruction,a brief review of the restoration results, and a summary of the characteristics of its construction, and concluded that: the results of the restoration of Hu Xueyan’s former residence has the value of a case study, its buildings were basically restored to their original state, but there is a difference between the results of the restoration of the garden and the history;its garden appearance is magnificent, the building has the characteristics of Anhui architecture;the garden and house are separated, artificial landscape to create a natural landscape imagery.Guo Zhuang’s restoration will combine repair and restoration, although showing the characteristics of the creation of private gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, but its results include the redesign of restoration workers,so there is a gap between the historical appearance of the garden, and does not reflect the regional characteristics of traditional private gardens in Hangzhou;although the layout of Guo Manor Forest is simple, but the spatial level is rich, with strong contrasts, through the visual guide to communicate the internal and external space. |
