Currently, large grid resistors are developing rapidly as an important part of power systems, and the production standard and process level have been greatly improved. However, due to their large size and complex internal structure,it is difficult to analyze the internal temperature distribution of grid resistors using experimental methods,so this thesis uses the popular ANSYS workbench simulation platform to simulate and optimize grid resistors. The main focus of this paper is to analyze the temperature field of the mesh resistor and to improve its thermal performance. To demonstrate the feasibility of finite element simulation software for finite element analysis of the mesh resistor.First, the 3D modeling of the mesh resistor was created using Solid Works and the obtained model was imported into ANSYS workbench. Then, material property settings, mesh division, and analytical solution steps were performed to obtain the temperature field image of the mesh resistor under normal operating conditions. Then, the real internal temperature data of the mesh resistor is obtained through the experimental study of its solid. Finally, the feasibility and accuracy of the simulation analysis of the mesh resistor by the finite element simulation software is verified by comparing the two sets of data. The temperature distribution inside the grid resistor can be analyzed by the temperature field distribution image, and two sets of solutions are designed to optimize the structure of the grid resistor using the two factors that affect the chimney effect. The first solution is to install an exhaust fan at the outlet of the grid resistor to reduce the internal temperature of the grid resistor by forced air cooling. The second solution is to add a chimney at the top of the grid resistor to enhance the natural air cooling efficiency of the grid resistor by increasing the height difference between the inlet and outlet, which also achieves the purpose of reducing the internal temperature of the grid resistor. This thesis presents a new method to study the thermal analysis of network resistors, using the current common finite element simulation technology to provide a basis for the optimal design of network resistors, and proposes two sets of design solutions for optimizing the temperature of network resistors.Field analysis has a certain practical significance.
