The intersection is an important part of the urban road transportation system.It is the place where the traffic flow turns and gathers.Once the intersection is congested,if the measures are not taken in time,the congestion will spread to the entire section,or even cause congestion in the entire area.It is not realistic to ease the congestion at the intersection by widening the width of the lane or increasing the number of lanes.The Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure technology(CVIS)has become the development direction and main research field of the intelligent transportation system,especially “interlaced sections such as urban road intersections,highway entrances and exits,etc.” The security assurance and traffic efficiency of conflict points have become the main research hotspots.In theory,the vehicle speed induction strategy is the core technology to improve road travel efficiency in CVIS,but it does not involve space optimization such as variable lanes or variable waiting areas.However,the space optimization method has mainly been studied at the macro level,and is not involved.The specific lane changing rules of the vehicle under the space optimization method.Based on this,in order to alleviate the coexistence problems of traffic congestion and idle road resources and that cannot be solved by signal timing due to the uneven distribution of traffic flow at urban intersection,a space optimization method for urban road intersections in CVIS is proposed.The feasibility of the method is verified by the simulation experiments of cellular automata for an intersection.The main work can be summarized as follows:(1)Space optimization method for urban road intersections in CVIS.This paper introduces the research object of space optimization method,combines the vehicle speed induction strategy in CVIS,and carries out multi-vehicle cooperative induction for general vehicles and special vehicles,and adjusts the driving rules of different phases of vehicles,in which the red light phase is preferentially prevailed for special vehicles.Based on the conflict coordination rules of intersections,a space optimization method for variable lanes and variable waiting areas is proposed.(2)CA model of urban road intersection space optimization method.Based on the NASH model,based on the NASH model,the basic model is improved and the city is improved according to the traffic flow characteristics of the urban road intersection and the operating rules of the vehicles under different phases.The CA model of the road intersection space optimization method is established and introduces the evaluation indicators of the simulation experiment.(3)Analysis of simulation experiments.In the simulation experiment,the intersection flow value is adjusted,combined with the vehicle speed induction strategy and the dynamic timing method.The two methods are compared with the space optimization method.The key parameters sensitivity is analyzed,and the straight lane variable method and left turn are determined.The applicable range of the variable lane method provides some new ideas for different types of vehicles to quickly pass through intersection and alleviate the imbalance of traffic flow distribution.
