The eddy current retarder is an auxiliary braking device independent of the vehicle braking system.It uses the electromagnetic induction principle to generate braking torque,which converts the kinetic energy of the vehicle into heat and dissipates it to achieve the deceleration or braking of the vehicle.At present,the research of eddy current retarder in China is in the initial stage,especially in the overall structure design method,key parts structure design and eddy current field theory research.Therefore,it is of far-reaching significance to use eddy current retarder to improve vehicle braking safety performance by researching the key technology of eddy current retarder.In this paper,the following researches are carried out by the combination of theoretical analysis,computer structural design and finite element solution: First,the structural design scheme is determined according to the product requirements of the eddy current retarder installed on the tractor,and a CAD and Solid Works software is used to design a New eddy current retarder structure.Secondly,four braking gears with different braking torques were designed for the eddy current retarder to meet the different braking needs of the vehicle.Simulink software was used to analyze the braking effect of the eddy current retarder in different gears.The higher the gear,the shorter the braking time and the better the braking effect.Finally,the three-dimensional magnetic field is analyzed by using the latest parametric modeling method of Ansys Maxwell software,and the skin effect and demagnetization effect of the rotor disk are verified by the static magnetic field analysis,and the factors affecting the magnetic field are analyzed and optimized.It is concluded that the electromagnetic material should choose the material with high permeability,the optimal value of the excitation current is 25 A,the optimal value of the air gap width is 1.5mm,and the optimal value of the rotor disk thickness is 17mm;and the eddy current is analyzed using the obtained optimal parameters The changing law of the braking performance of the retarder under the transient magnetic field.The braking torque increases first and then decreases slowly with the increase of the speed.When the speed is lower than 400 rpm,the braking torque of the eddy current retarder is smaller.It is necessary to combine the engine and brake pads for brake deceleration.Through the structural design of the eddy current retarder,it provides a new structural design scheme for its product development in the field of tractors;the analysis of its magnetic circuit and eddy current field provides the research for the magnetic field of the eddy current retarder It has a theoretical basis;the design of its braking gear and the kinematics simulation research can intuitively show the braking effect of the eddy current retarder in different braking gears,and provide a reference for the actual use of the eddy current retarder;The static simulation study of the electromagnetic field has verified the integrity of the magnetic circuit and the demagnetization effect and skin effect of the rotor disk;The parameters of the influencing factors of the magnetic field are optimized,which provides the optimal parameters for the structural design;According to the transient simulation analysis and the understanding of the variation law of the braking torque of the eddy current retarder,which provides a theoretical basis for combined braking.The above research promotes the research process of the application of eddy current retarder in the field of vehicle.
