In recent years,with the continuous enhancement of China’s comprehensive national strength and economic level,people’s requirements for the development of rail transit and rolling stock are also increasing.As the power component of diesel locomotive,whether its working efficiency is good enough and whether its economic performance can be further improved is closely related to its working condition.If the air wants to enter the diesel engine,the air filtering system is the only way.The air quality of the air filter system is directly related to the reliability and dynamic performance of the diesel engine.Therefore,although the air filter system is only a small part,it is very important to optimize its structure.At present,because the internal flow field of diesel engine air filter system is very complex,it is impossible to carry on the solid model and other means to carry on the theoretical analysis of its internal fluid flow characteristics.Therefore,the CFD platform is usually chosen for 3D simulation.In this paper,three practical models of locomotive air filtration system are selected as the research object.Through the research and analysis of the structure and working mode of the solid model,the corresponding air filter system model is established in ANSYS Icepak software.With a comprehensive understanding of the structure,size parameters,functions and working conditions of the air filter system of the locomotive diesel engine,ANSYS FLUENT software is used to calculate the set model,and according to the calculation results,the pressure field,velocity field and velocity vector in the system are mainly studied and analyzed to find out the unreasonable structure design.In view of these problems,the structural optimization of the air filter system of locomotive diesel engine is carried out under the condition that the design basis and design constraints of the original structure are strictly unchanged.And every optimization scheme should be re verified by CFD calculation to ensure that every system can get a structure model with reasonable structure and less energy loss.Finally,the three air filter models are compared to find a more suitable air filter system for diesel engine work,which provides a theoretical basis for the actual design of the plant;at the same time,through the structural optimization of a variety of different structures of air filter system,the general optimization direction of common air filter system structure is summarized,which provides theoretical support for future research and production.
