| In order to improve the high temperature performance of asphalt mixtures,more and more modifiers have been developed.The modifier greatly improves the viscoelastic performance of the asphalt binder,and at the same time improves the high temperature stability of the asphalt mixtures.As a result,the traditional high-temperature performance index of asphalt is difficult to accurately evaluate the high-temperature performance of modified asphalt.It is an urgent task to select suitable high-temperature performance indexes of asphalt and accurately evaluate the high-temperature performance of different modified asphalts to reasonably predict the rutting resistance of pavement.In this paper,SBS modified asphalt,high modulus modified asphalt,and high-viscosity asphalt are prepared by adding modifiers to the 70# asphalt.These asphalts are selected because they are widely used in engineering.At the same time,Hon7686,a new polymer modifier with less domestic research,was selected to make Hon modified asphalt.These four modified asphalts were evaluated using conventional indicators and rheology indicators.An wheel tracking was performed to evaluate the high-temperature stability of the modified asphalt mixture with dynamic stability,the correlation between the high-temperature asphalt index and the dynamic stability was analyzed,and the applicability of the high-temperature asphalt index was studied.The main conclusions reached are as follows:(1)In terms of conventional indicators,Hon-modified asphalt is significantly different from SBS modified asphalt,high modulus modified asphalt,and high-viscosity asphalt,which is mainly reflected in the lower penetration and the larger softening point.However,the indoor rutting test of the mixture verified that the correlation between penetration and dynamic stability is poor,and the softening point of Hon modified asphalt has an imaginary high phenomenon.The softening point is not suitable for evaluating the high temperature performance of Hon modified asphalt.However,the correlation between the softening point and dynamic stability is significantly higher than other conventional indicators,which can be used as engineering reference indicators.(2)Unlike SBS modified,high modulus and high viscosity asphalt,the phase angle of Hon modified asphalt shows a non-monotonic change trend with increasing temperature,indicating that the working mechanism of Hon modifier is more complicated;The rutting factor of asphalt(including Shenoy modified rutting factor),especially the rutting factor of Hon modified asphalt,has a low degree of correlation with the dynamic stability of the asphalt mixture.It is confirmed that the high-temperature rheological properties of the binder is not the decisive factor or the only factor determining the road performance of the asphalt mixture(3)The rutting test proves that the non-recoverable creep compliance can evaluate the high temperature performance of modified asphalt,including Hon modified asphalt.Hon modified asphalt has a large difference in high-temperature performance between linear viscoelastic interval and nonlinear viscoelastic interval,which is more complicated than SBS modified,high modulus and high viscosity asphalt.Compared with the other three types of asphalt,Hon modified asphalt has a higher stiffness and is prone to bottom voiding during the steady-state shear test.The zero-shear viscosity obtained by the steady-state shear test is not suitable for evaluating Hon modified asphalt. |
