Research On The Potential Of Energy Trade Between China And Kazakhstan Under The “One Belt One Road” Initiative

In the face of the current increasingly complex international political and economic situation,the “Belt and Road” initiative has provided new ideas for China to further expand its opening up.If China wants to achieve sustainable development,it is particularly important to ensure energy supply and demand.China has always relied heavily on energy imports,and the “Belt and Road” initiative has created a golden opportunity for trade cooperation between China and countries along the route.Among the countries along the route,Kazakhstan has rich oil and gas resources,coupled with its advantage of bordering on Chinese territory,laying an important foundation for China-Kazakhstan energy trade cooperation.Therefore,it is of great significance to promote the further development of the energy trade potential between China and Kazakhstan with the help of the “Belt and Road” initiative.This article mainly discusses from the following three parts.First,this article discusses the energy trade between China and Kazakhstan from several aspects such as the basis of energy trade between China and Kazakhstan,the general situation of energy import and export between China and Kazakhstan,the trade structure and dependence of energy between China and Kazakhstan,and the problems in energy trade between China and Kazakhstan.The profile has been sorted out and analyzed in detail.First,it is analyzed that China and Kazakhstan have a good foundation in energy trade.On the one hand,the energy supply and demand of China and Kazakhstan are complementary.On the other hand,China’s massive investment in Kazakhstan’s energy sector also provides an important foundation for China-Kazakhstan energy trade.In terms of the energy trade structure between China and Kazakhstan,China exports coal to Kazakhstan and imports crude oil and natural gas from Kazakhstan.In the long run,under the promotion of the “Belt and Road” initiative,energy trade cooperation between China and Kazakhstan will also increase,which can maximize the potential of energy trade between the two sides.From the perspective of the problems in China-Kazakhstan energy trade,this article believes that the obstacles to China-Kazakhstan energy trade are the weak construction of China-Kazakhstan energy trade infrastructure,high transportation costs,the single entity of energy trade and investment between China and Kazakhstan,and the US dollar is still the main one.The currency of settlement increases trade costs and exchange rate risks.Second,this paper constructs an expanded gravity model to conduct an empirical analysis of China-Kazakhstan energy trade.It believes that the better the economic development of Kazakhstan,the stronger China’s investment in Kazakhstan,and the greater the economic freedom of the two countries,the greater the impact on China-Kazakhstan energy trade.It has a great promotion effect.Through the calculation of the energy trade potential between China and Kazakhstan,it is found that the two countries have huge potential in energy trade.Third,when it is clear that China-Kazakhstan energy trade has great potential for development,this article proposes to promote the in-depth development of China-Kazakhstan energy cooperation with the principle of win-win cooperation,accelerate the construction of China-Kazakhstan energy infrastructure,and improve the management system.Enriching foreign investment entities,enhancing the settlement function of the RMB in the energy cooperation trade between the two countries,and promoting the diversified development of energy trade between the two sides.
