Research On The Optimization Of The Setting Of Passengers Guide Signs In Metro Stations

The rail transit plays an important role in guiding passengers flow with the rapid development of urbanization process.The metro,which has the advantages of large capacity,stable operation,fast speed and energy saving,is a major component of the rail transit.In recent years,with the speed up of metro construction in major cities and the increase of the total number of metro passengers,reasonable guide signs become increasingly important.Without the guide signs leading passengers complete the inbound,outbound and transfer processes quickly,not only passengers’ travel efficiency,but also the operating efficiency of the metro station will be reduced.Therefore,the effective setting of guide signs is the focus of the metro station construction.Firstly,we clarify the definitions of the guide signs.Then describe the purpose,classification,form of the guide signs and set the basic elements to provide the theoretical basis for the optimization.Secondly,we conduct research about the guide signs from the aspects of the information contents,the layout design and the layout location.In terms of the information contents,we perform functional analysis on different areas of the metro station,then divide the areas into inbound,outbound and transfer flow lines according to the passengers flow lines.And we design the guide signs information contents by constructing the streamline-position-demand hierarchical model.In terms of the layout design,we carry out quantitative research combining the key factors such as font type,color matching and layout methods.We use experimental methods to explore the influence of the above elements on the recognition efficiency of the guide signs with the help of E-Prime software.And the experiments show that the isoline font,yellow text on a black background,and horizontal layout are the optimal results.In terms of the layout location,we establish the layout optimization model with the goal of inducing the largest passenger flows in target areas and the LINGO software is used to solve the above model,which provides a scientific basis for the guide signs setting optimization of metro stations.Finally,take Chengdu South Railway Station as an example,we combined the research conclusions and optimize the metro station’s guide signs of that typical station.
