With the rapid development of China’s high-speed rail construction and the advancement of urbanization, the relationship between railway passenger stations and cities is becoming closer. As an important node and part of the city, the high-speed rail transportation complex has the dual attributes of transportation function and urban function. It is of great significance for improving transportation efficiency, promoting urban development, and coordinating the relationship between transportation and cities. The research on the functional composite and spatial layout of the high-speed rail transportation complex is mainly aimed at the efficient operation of the high-speed rail transportation hub,the integrated design of passenger stations and cities, the functional composition and evolution of the high-speed rail transportation complex, and the functional composite design and spatial layout from the perspective of the coordinated development of research stations and cities.China’s high-speed rail transportation complex is still in the initial construction stage, and theoretical research is not perfect. There are problems such as the unreasonable function layout in the hub,the fragmentation of passenger stations, the unreasonable connection between stations and cities, and the inconsistent management of stations and cities. It is manifested in low traffic efficiency, fragmented station space shape, low land utilization rate, and unreasonable industrial structure in the city, and the station failed to produce a good chemical reaction with the city to promote mutual development.Aiming at the above problems, this paper closely combines the current practice and research in the field of high-speed rail passenger station construction in China, and focuses on the spatial composite and spatial layout of high-speed rail passenger stations and urban functions. It is based on the theory of traffic-guided urban development, the theory of spatial combination of building functions, and the theory of urban integration of buildings.Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods from a multi-professional perspective,a theoretical system for functional compounding and spatial layout of China’s high-speed rail transportation complex has been initially established. This paper summarizes the functional compounding, spatial layout, transportation spatial organization mode and flat section layout mode of the high-speed rail transportation complex, and finally proposes corresponding design strategies to promote the coordinated and sustainable development of the high-speed rail transportation complex and the city. The first chapter of this article elaborates the current situation of the development of China ’s high-speed rail and the current status of railway passenger station development.Based on the existing problems,it is pointed out that the function and layout optimization of high-speed railway stations adapted to the new era of railway construction are worthy of research. The introduction elaborates the purpose and significance of the research, details the research methods and framework, introduces basic theories such as station-city integration, railway passenger-station design, and building-city integration, and finally summarizes related research at home and abroad. The second chapter deeply analyzes the functional composition and spatial characteristics of the high-speed rail transportation hub.The third chapter is based on the research on the development of railway passenger station functions, combined with practical cases and theoretical studies, and classifies and analyzes the main ways of combining high-speed railway stations with urban functions. The fourth chapter studies the spatial layout of the high-speed rail transportation complex in detail, including the evolution of the spatial layout of railway passenger stations, the three-dimensional layout design, and the above-ground and underground integration layout. In addition,a quantitative analysis is performed based on passenger flow, and an optimal design strategy for spatial layout is proposed from the perspective of spatial correlation.Chapter 5 selects existing high-speed railway stations based on field surveys, quantitatively analyzes the area’s walking accessibility, summarizes the basic types and typical layout patterns of walking space organization, and finally proposes a feasibility design strategy based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.Chapter 6: Summarizing and thinking and explaining the shortcomings and prospects of research.
