| The concept of healthy travel and green travel is gradually becoming more popular.The rapid increase of vehicle quantity brings about a series of thorny problems for urban development.More and more people choose bicycles as their way of getting around.However,in the past decades of development,"motor vehicle at first" has always been our construction philosophy,which leads to the insufficient scale of the construction of bicycle infrastructure and the lack of new and efficient bicycle infrastructure design.This deficiency and lack has exacerbated the conflict between motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles.It reduces the operation efficiency of both sides and increases the security risks of both sides.To solve this problem,countries all over the world began to design new bicycle infrastructure.Germany,Denmark,the United Kingdom and other countries design and build such facilities as cycle superhighways,bicycle expressways.But the exact impact of these new facilities on the original transportation system,especially the motorized transportation system,is still under debate.This paper takes the cycle superhighway in London as the research object to explore the influence of the establishment of the cycle superhighway on the operating condition of surrounding buses.Based on the real-time data of bus arrivals provided by the Transport for London website.Variables such as regional economic development level,the types of land use,population density,employment density,number of bus lines and etc.are collected to represent properties characteristics of sample sections.Logistic regression model is deployed to calculate the score belong to the sample.And based on above,the experimental group and control group can be matched properly,effectively avoiding the error caused by sample selection bias.Using the method of propensity score matching,the paper obtains the influence of the establishment of cycle superhighway on the operating condition of buses in the morning rush hour,evening rush hour and peak hour of weekdays and non-weekdays respectively.The experimental results show that the establishment of cycle superhighway significantly improves the operating speed of buses.The measured results of six periods all showed that the operating speed of buses in the experimental group was about 20% higher than that in the control group,and the t-test values of relevant results were all greater than 1.96,indicating that the experimental results were statistically significant. |
