Study On External Structure And Shape Of Shanxi Pagoda

Buddhism originated from ancient India.After entering China at the end of the Western Han Dynasty and the beginning of the Eastern Han Dynasty,it merged with the local Chinese culture and religion to form a Buddhist culture with Chinese characteristics.Shanxi Province,as one of the birthplaces of Chinese Buddhist culture,and as one of the earliest provinces in China to have contact with pagodas,Shanxi pagodas were formed earlier,thus forming the earliest clear expression formula in China,which is exemplary and special among domestic pagodas.Sex.As a landmark building in Buddhism,the pagoda has also formed an architectural form different from foreign ones in the process of spreading and developing in Shanxi.This process embodies a formal process of fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.At the same time,Shanxi region,as an important military and political location in ancient northern China,has a typical architectural culture of northern China and diverse ethnic cultures.Buddhism and pagodas were introduced into Shanxi around the fourth century AD,rooted in local development,and the resulting pagoda architectural culture not only has the characteristics of northern China in common,but also has the individuality of Shanxi’s local characteristics.To this day,we can still see some precious pagodas left over on the land of Shanxi.This article takes Shanxi pagoda architectural system,architectural modeling and its decoration as the starting point.Firstly,through the investigation,survey,classification,comparison and summary of these existing pagodas in Shanxi area,to understand the development process of pagodas in Shanxi area.This process not only covers the development of the pagoda in each dynasty in Shanxi,but also the process of fusion between different cultures at a deeper level.It systematically summarizes the modeling characteristics of the construction of the pagoda in Shanxi,and then classifies it through a large number of field investigations and picture examples.Description.From these processes,it is finally concluded that the pagoda architecture in Shanxi area has the characteristics of each step from the conception and design before the construction,to the structure and shape during construction,and finally to the use after the construction is completed.Such a conclusion has reference value for the understanding,protection and utilization of the cultural relics of pagodas in Shanxi in the future,and it also has this guiding significance for the planning and design of ancient buildings,and plays a certain role in inspiration and reference for today’s construction workers.
