| Shanxi is a treasure trove of above-ground architecture in China,known as the "museum of above-ground cultural relics",of which the number of existing ancient pagodas reaches more than 500.This paper takes Shanxi province as the research scope,takes the existing ancient pagodas in Shanxi,the ancient pagodas described in the local chronicles and the people related to the construction of ancient pagodas described in the local chronicles as the research objects,through consulting the modern books and the local chronicles of Shanxi,using the GIS related technology and the idea of quantitative research,the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics,the historical evolution pattern and the people related to the construction of ancient pagodas in Shanxi are studied.The first part of the study is to summarize the spatial distribution pattern and characteristics of ancient pagodas in Shanxi,based on literature,the list of cultural preservation units,census data,etc.to obtain the location information of the existing ancient pagodas in Shanxi,as well as to obtain geographical information data such as elevation,hydrology and image maps of Shanxi,using Arcgis and other GIS software,combined with the description of the relationship between ancient pagodas and mountains,water,cities,temples,etc.in literature,from spatial distribution,The second part is to analyze the relationship between the ancient pagodas and mountains,water,cities and temples in Shanxi from the perspective of time.The second part is to analyze the evolution of ancient pagodas in Shanxi from the perspective of time.Based on the literature,we collect information on the plan shape,number of levels,height,materials and other forms of ancient pagodas,as well as the traffic and roads in Shanxi in the past generations,and analyze the evolution of the spatial distribution of ancient pagodas under the change of dynasties and time,as well as the evolution of each form over time.The third part is to explore the reasons for the construction of ancient pagodas from the perspective of the builders.Based on the descriptions of the people involved in the construction of the pagodas in local records,including the location and time of the activities related to the construction of the pagodas,the background of the people involved in the construction of the pagodas and the pagodas built,the conclusions are investigated through documentary analysis.The fourth part is a case study,which analyzes some special time,space and character nodes found in the previous chapters and explores their characteristics and reasons.One of the nodes is the concentration of ancient pagodas in Yicheng County in time and space,and the second node is the two pagodas built by the monk Miaofeng in Yuncheng City and Taiyuan City in his later years,which show relatively similar form characteristics.Finally,three conclusions are drawn regarding the spatial and temporal distribution of ancient pagodas in Shanxi,the evolution of their forms,and the relevance of the construction activities of the Shanxi pagoda builders. |
