Immersive experience is a human instinctive and physical perceptual experience.The immersive entertainment industry initiated by Disney theme parks in the 1950shas shown a trend of large-scale systemization in recent years,and has rapidly developed and occupied the market.The immersive entertainment industry,includingtheme parks,cultural tourism,commercial entertainment,theme games,art exhibitions,etc.,exhibits a highly interactive,intimate,and narrative trend in itsspace.How the creators can enhance the audience’s desire for autonomous interaction,strengthen the sense of experience and complete intimate narration in the environmentof the created "new world" is a huge challenge for the creators of immersive theater.This is also the core of the discussion in this article,namely,how the space ofimmersive theater makes people immersed.On the other hand,in the viewing relationship between immersive theater and traditional theater,how the audience’sperception experience,interactive behavior and emotions adversely affect the theaterspace.The first part of this article briefly summarizes the development of the immersiveexperience entertainment industry and the reasons why it has become hot in recent years,and defines the concepts of "immersive experience" and "immersive theater" inthis article,and subdivides the scope of discussion.The second part starts from the"witchcraft and sacrificial activities",the root of human immersive experience,anddivides historical human immersive experience activities into:before the mechanical media age,mechanical media age,electronic media age and contemporary immersiveworks exploration Several parts discuss the characteristics of the immersive experience space in different periods and under the influence of different media,andlist the most representative contemporary immersive experience works.The third part states the theoretical basis for the composition of immersive theater space.The fourthpart attempts to analyze the five aspects of theater space experience,dynamics,distance,dynamics,and characterization through the experience study of the case of"Sleepless Night" in the Shanghai version of the immersive theater.The fifth part attempts to summarize the composition of contemporary immersive theater space andproposes recommended design methods.
