Research On Urban Public Space Design Based On "Spatial Narrative" Theory

Narratology,as a special subject,was born in 1960 s.In the 1980 s,with the birth of postmodern trend of thought,narratology crossed with other disciplines and completed the transformation from structuralist narratology to Postmodern narratology.With the transformation from modern to postmodern,the problems of time and existence that perplex contemporary people begin to be challenged by the concept of space formed under the intersection of postmodern disciplines We find that there is a so-called spatial turn in philosophy,narratology and architecture.On the basis of modern architecture and urban thought based on Western value system,in the process of rapid urbanization in China in recent decades,there are a part of factors eager for quick success and instant benefit,and the lack of regional cultural elements in the process of urbanization results in the separation of urban material space from the culture and memory of non-material elements.In view of these phenomena,this paper aims to use the phenomenological reduction thought,first of all,reviews the contradictions in the view of the relationship between people and architecture in the process of the development of architecture,and finds the trend that architecture and space return to the main body,which leads to the importance of people directly experiencing architecture.In the face of over interpretation of the identity and symbolization of architecture,we call for attention to the requirement of taking human perception as the judgment standard,trace back the origin of architectural space,and re-examine the deep relationship between people and space.Then,on the premise of the intersection of narratology and architecture,the study of narratology has realized the transition from time narrative to spatial narrative.This paper interprets and discriminates the space and narrative in space narrative,summarizes and analyzes the development trend of space theory from traditional space to modernism space and then to architectural phenomenology space.Then it studies narrative theory,analyzes the relevance between space and narrative,and analyzes the space turning trend of narratology research.This paper summarizes the definition of material elements and non-material elements in spatial narrative,analyzes their relevance,and selects representative materials and experiences in detail.This paper classifies the event types and event mechanisms in urban public space narration,and emphasizes the important role of events,behavior,movement and other non-material elements in urban design.The sense organ is the main perception form of events in urban public space.These elements lead to strong perceptual experience and play a key role in shaping and spreading the city image.According to the theory of space narrative,the person who returns to the body as the space experiencer analyzes the material basis and non-material elements of space narrative from the perspective of space narration,so as to translate the material design of the non-material elements,and to construct the city image on this basis.Based on the spatial narrative theory and architectural phenomenology,this paper analyzes the spatial narrative cases,puts forward the urban space narrative design methods and design translation strategies,and through the design and translation of the non-material perceptual elements of urban space through the material elements such as building materials,the design practice of urban space narrative is completed,which leads to people’s perceptual experience,construction and construction Spread the image of the city and strengthen the spirit and temperament of the city.
