The Research Of Traditional Chinese Architecture From The Perspective Of Phenomenology Of Perception Space Experience

The Chinese traditional architecture has a very long history and great value in culture, its unique shape and spirit are formed in this long process of development. But as the time goes by, the traditional architecture itself is no longer able to meet the increasingly progressive needs of economy and culture. It’s gradually vanished into extinction which is accompanied by intense process of globalization.How to inherit the traditional architecture and culture which we can retain our characteristics in the globalization trend, has become an urgent question to the contemporary architecture practitioner. This paper attempts to take the thoughts of phenomenology of perception to savor the essence of traditional architectural space, explores the way of creating a poetic context by stripping the external idea and meaning and taking the perspective of the resonance of building itself.The full text is divided into six chapters:Chapter I discusses the purpose, scope and significance of the article, and the related research in the field. Chapter II discusses the methods on analysis of experience in the architectural space with in depth study of phenomenology of perception. Chapter III takes a view on the phenomenological point to start an analysis of the material elements which shape the experience in traditional architectural space. Chapter IV focuses on the methods of narration in traditional architectural space, tries to discuss its non-material properties. Chapter V takes some exploration on reproduction of the traditional architectural space with modern technology by analyzing some cases.After doing some basic research on the experience of traditional architectural space by approaching to the phenomenology of perception, i hope to provide some new ideas and methods for inheriting the tradition.
