Research On Activation Of Traditional Village Memory Placesbased On Weibo Data

Traditional villages are the recipients of nostalgia cultures.The existing topographical terrains,traditional architecture,public space landscapes,buildings & streets,and folk customs all reflect profound historical and cultural inheritance.Rapid development and progression of urbanization have induced a transition of traditional villages.The impact between globalization and regional local cultures leads to the continual modernization,internationalization and standardization of traditional characteristic villages.Consequently,a large quantity of historic sites enriched with emotion,individual memory and collective memory are subjected to homogenization,fragmentation and discretization,leading to the destruction of traditional textures and historical contexts,loss of memory carriers,and lack of cultural identity over traditional villages.Hence,protection and activation of memory space in traditional villages are of great significance for village development,memory preservation and inheritance,and are critically valuable for improvement of memory space theories.With the rapid development of digital technology,Weibo has emerged as a novel storage and inheritance social medium for reshaping social cultural memory.It provides multidimensional data for studying the memory space of traditional villages.Weibo is superior over traditional data in terms of faster updating,larger data volumes and richer information,and offers new clues for research on memory space activation of traditional villages.In this study based on content analysis of Weibo data,the existing studies on memory space and social media were summarized,and tradition villages,Weibo data and memory-related concepts were elaborated.Thereby,on basis of architecture,environmental design and other disciplines,the space and time data contained in Weibo were subjected to environmental,space and visualized analyses.Furthermore,methods for research on memory space in traditional villages were established,and associations between space and memory were explored.After that,based on analytical results of Weibo data about memory space and together with space narration theories,a memory space activation strategy for Mingyuewan ancient village was proposed from the perspective of memory space information association integration,and an activation path was designed.The findings validate that this path provides a new possibility for memory space research under new technical conditions.This study offers new and rich data sources for research on memory space excavation from traditional villages,provides a basis and guiding strategy for village protection and exploitation,and presents a new foundation and new example for subsequent protection and activation works.
