With the continuous development of China’s current economy and society,urban and rural municipal construction is also promoted at a high speed,which brings a lot of opportunities to enterprises engaged in municipal engineering construction.However,at the same time,due to the intensification of market competition and the current economic system reform,enterprises must constantly upgrade their internal management ability,especially corporate cost control management,so that they can be competitive and able to achieve their sustainable development.Therefore,for the enterprises who engaged in municipal engineering construction,it is necessary to carry out intensive study and analysis on the cost control.This paper first expounds the background and significance of the cost control of the construction,gives a systematic overview of the relevant definitions and theoretical foundations,and paves the research below.Secondly,gives a brief introduction to the construction overview of the municipal drainage project in the M area of X company,and put forward the current status of cost control in the construction of the municipal drainage project in the M area.Analyze and summarize the various data of the project through the earned value theory,and summarized the problems in the project,and then find out the deep-seated causes of these problems.Finally,the corresponding optimization strategy is proposed based on the problem and the reason.This paper believes that the main problems in the cost control of this project include four aspects: high labor subcontracting costs,high material costs,untimely engineering change procedures,and cost control is mere a formality.The main reasons for the problems are: lack of labor service subcontracting control system,backward material cost control methods,nonstandard engineering change management process,and inadequate cost internal control management.According to the actual situation of the company and the project,the specific measures proposed as follows: formulating labor subcontracting control system,strengthening scientific management and control of construction material costs,strengthening engineering change cost management,and strengthening cost control management measures.This study can improve the market competitiveness of X company,help the company’s overall supervision and management of municipal projects,and further improve the company’s cost management process and system;at the same time,it can also provide reference for other municipal construction industries and specific enterprises to promote corporate employees.The increased awareness of cost control provides a reference plan for further enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises.
