At present,China’s high-rise residential buildings are increasingly using steel structures.Compared with general reinforced concrete structures, they have certain advantages in structural performance and assembly construction, yet their environmental performance needs to be further discussed. For the environmental impact of residential buildings with different structural types, although there exist relevant research results, the study on high-rise residential buildings is still limited. At present,high-rise residential buildings are the mainstream of urban residential buildings in China. With such large stocks and increments,it is necessary to study the environmental performance of high-rise residential buildings with different structural forms. This study combines the life cycle assessment method with the building information model to carry out the life cycle environmental impact and cost analysis of high-rise residential buildings with different structures. The analytic hierarchy process is used to weight the different impact indicators to provide a basis for comparative research. On this basis, the BIM-LCA evaluation model and process are summarized to provide theoretical and methodological support for actual case analysis. In this paper, the above methods are applied to evaluate the life cycle of reinforced concrete structures and steel structure residential buildings. From the structural materials and the building,it analyzes the energy demand and environmental emissions in five major life cycle stages of the building, including material production, construction, operation and maintenance, and end of life cycle, and obtains the life cycle performance calculation results of two structural high-rise residential buildings.Through comparative analysis,it is concluded that the energy demand, environmental impact and cost of steel structure buildings are better than reinforced concrete structure during the whole life cycle, which provides a reference for rational selection of high-rise residential building structure and targeted reduction of its environmental impact..
