Vietnam’s New Energy Vehicle Development And Policy Research

With the increase of car ownership in various countries,the environmental problems caused by vehicle exhaust can not be underestimated.Governments have gradually realized that the cultivation and development of new energy vehicle industry is an effective way to alleviate the energy crisis and environmental pressure,thus new energy vehicles have gradually come into people’s view.At present,governments around the world have issued a series of supporting policies for the new energy vehicle industry,covering all aspects of the industry chain,such as vehicle planning,production and sales.As a developing country,Vietnam hopes to catch up with the era of new energy vehicle development by learning the advanced experience of other countries and formulating relevant policies.This paper reviews the development process of Vietnam’s automobile industry,and analyzes the current situation and the advantages and disadvantages of Vietnam’s new energy automobile industry through SWOT analysis.It also analyzes the supporting policies for the development of new energy automobile industry implemented by China,the United States and Japan to provide experience for the development of new energy vehicle industry.According to the actual situation of Vietnam,this paper puts forward some policy suggestions,including subsidies and preferential policies,infrastructure construction policies,industrial technology supporting regulations,establishing and improving talent introduction and training policies.This paper concludes that the Vietnam government should pay attention to four aspects : Firstly,the economic subsidy policy can improve the sales of new energy vehicles;Secondly,the restrictions on the purchase and transportation of fuel vehicles and preferential policies have an indirect effect on new energy vehicles,which is conducive to the promotion of new energy vehicles;Thirdly,the technology level of new energy vehicles is an important factor that affects whether consumers decide to buy it;Fourthly,the distribution of charging piles will affect the sales of new energy vehicles.It is an effective way to deal with the current energy crisis and environmental pressure and promote the sustainable development of Vietnam’s automobile industry.
