Overhead transmission lines are the main means of power transmission in China. These transmission lines are vulnerable to severe weather such as rain and snow in alpine mountainous areas or places with very low temperature, and the surface of the transmission lines is liable to be covered with ice, which will affect the stable operation of the power grid.At present, the main deicing methods used include mechanical deicing, thermal deicing, natural deicing and sprinkling of ice and snow melting agent, etc.Such traditional passive deicing methods not only waste a lot of human, material and financial resources, but also may cause certain damage to the natural environment on which we live.According to an analysis of data released by the national power authority every year, the number of accidents caused by icing on transmission lines is very large. Therefore,it is necessary to carry out in-depth research on the technology of active de-icing of transmission lines.Firstly, the environmental conditions and characteristics of transmission line icing are analyzed, and the icing mechanism is used to study the phenomenon of transmission line icing. This paper mainly studies the transmission line active deicing technology, specifically refers to the use of icing mechanism to prevent or slow down the formation of transmission line icing in principle.According to the wettability theory of superhydrophobic coating, the VOF model of Fluent is used to simulate the V-shaped micro groove, rectangular micro groove and dome micro groove, and the contact angles of three micro grooves with different shapes are obtained. Then, the key components of the spraying system are analyzed by theoretical calculation, the selection of driving motor and transmission system is completed, the key parts of the system are designed and checked, and the finite element analysis of some important parts of the spraying system is carried out by using ANSYS to determine whether they meet the design requirements, and a set of PLC control system is designed. Finally, according to the data obtained from the simulation analysis, the corresponding coatings are selected for comparative icing experiment and the microstructure of the coatings is observed to determine the hydrophobic properties of different coatings,so as to determine their anti icing performance.Through the analysis and research,it is found that the V-shaped micro groove has the best hydrophobicity among the three micro grooves. The key components of the spraying device are analyzed theoretically, and a set of PLC control system is designed. The results show that the spraying device meets the design requirements. The ice coating test of transmission line shows that the performance of ZS-711 anti ice and snow coating is the best, followed by ZS-611 anti ice and snow coating.
