With the development of higher special education in our country,more and more deaf youths have the opportunity to enter universities.Deaf college students are known as "the pride of the deaf" and receive education and guidance like hearing people,so as to become the pillars of social needs.However,because society has long viewed deaf and deaf people from a medical perspective,it is difficult for the hearing people to understand the behavior of the deaf and even more difficult to understand their inner world.As a result,the deaf are marginalized by the mainstream society,and the difficulties are always with them.How to solve the difficulties in life of deaf college students,improve their quality of life,and enable them to smoothly integrate into mainstream society is a real issue that society needs to pay attention to.This article integrates the characteristics of sensory compensation into the emotional design of products,and conducts a research on deaf college students and their life assistance products.First,this article studies the physical and mental characteristics and lifestyles of deaf college students from the perspective of deaf culture.On the basis of in-depth discussion on the content of deaf culture,by integrating into the life of deaf college students to dig out the pain points in their lives,so as to summarize their real needs.Secondly,it mainly discusses the three-level theory of emotional design,supplemented by the concept of sensory compensation design,researched the multi-sensory compensation method and design principles of hearing impairment,and explained the role of sensory compensation design in emotional design.Thirdly,it classified and analyzed the life assistance products of the deaf group,and emphasized the application method and importance of sign language recognition technology in the social interaction of the deaf and hearing people.Then,the three-part research conclusions of "Crowd-Design Theory-Products " are synthesized,and the emotional design method of life assistance products for deaf college students based on sensory compensation is summarized,and based on the language features of sign language,a design guidance method for products with sign language translation function is proposed.Finally,according to the life and emotional needs of deaf college students,the corresponding design practice was completed under the guidance of design methods,thereby validating the conclusions.
