| Harmonious parent-child relationship is an important part of family harmony, and good parent-child behavior will have an important impact on the physical and mental growth of the next generation.Due to the high accessibility, the outdoor public space in residential areas is more conducive to parent-child interaction than other urban public spaces such as city parks and squares. Therefore,it is necessary to create a good space for parent-child interaction in residential areas. However, the current design of outdoor parent-child activity spaces is mostly from the perspective of children, and the needs of parents are often ignored, preventing effective parent-child interaction. The design of parent-child interactive spaces in settlements lacks comprehensive and effective construction guidance programs and design theory research.Whether it is the safety, comfort and fun of parent-child interaction space,or the types and modes of parent-child interaction, all need to be consciously designed and planned. How to combine the psychology and behavior of "parent" and "child" with the landscape design of parent-child interactive space in residential areas is an important topic of this paper. This paper takes the space of "parent-child" interaction in urban settlements as the spatial object of the study, and the two parents, intergenerational parents and children aged 0-12 who use the public space in urban settlements as the main object of the study. This paper takes the space of "parent-child" interaction in urban settlements as the spatial object of the study, and the two parents, intergenerational parents and children aged 0-12 who use the public space in urban settlements as the main object of the study.Firstly,we analyze the current problems of parent-child activities and parent-child spaces in residential areas through questionnaires and field research.Secondly, analyze the causes of the current problems and the needs of "parents" and"children" for the public space landscape in the residential area by using the relevant theories of psychological behavior, and explore the space and activity modes that are conducive to parent-child interaction,so as to solve the current problems from the root. The theoretical basis of this paper is also constructed.Starting from studying the psychological behavior of parents and children,we explore the relationship between parent-child activities and residential space, and propose four types of parent-child modules: natural leisure parent-child module, game experience parent-child module, sports growth parent-child module and cooperative sharing parent-child module. After that, according to the types of parent-child activities carried by each module,we propose"diversification of activity forms and composite activity scenes","parent-childization of leisure lawn and implantation of parent-child activities","enrichment of plant species, taking into account functional and aesthetics","embedding outdoor mother and child area to provide a place for communication","using height difference and topography to enrich interface design","universalizing the scale of facilities to promote adult participation ","invoke the symbols of the era of memory to enhance the sense of ’pro’ belonging","set up parent-child jogging paths and optimize road design",and "add parent-child sports fields to enhance parent-child relationships","introduce interactive devices to add interest to activities","add a parent-child co-planting garden to promote parent-child cooperation",and "Specific strategies for optimizing the landscape design of "parent-child" spaces in residential areas, such as "holding rich activities to increase warm memories".Finally, the design practice of parent-child space is carried out in Chongqing Qianshanxinyu residential area as an example, and four types of parent-child modules are implanted in eight functional zones in the residential area in a single form, two combinations and three combinations to verify the feasibility of the proposed parent-child module design strategy, and the combination of each module is discussed in more depth.In-depth understanding of the demand of "parent" and "child" for public space landscape in residential areas is a necessary condition for designing a good interactive space for parents and children in residential areas. At the same time,it can also provide a design direction for other places’ landscape design.By building a theoretical bridge between developmental psychology and landscape design,we find a suitable combination point for the integration between the two disciplines, and lay a certain foundation for the future combination between landscape design and other disciplines. |
