| Chinese curtilage garden is the social,economic and cultural combination of art and life form design,is the spirit of the Chinese nation and the natural environment under the integrated environmental design.Throughout history,curtilage gardens have a long history of development and evolution and are one of the forms of traditional Chinese gardens.Although Yunnan’s curtilage gardens were formed later in development,they also present rich garden types and distinctive regional cultural characteristics under the influence of Yunnan’s unique natural environment and diverse cultures,exhibiting the daily life environment and artistic and aesthetic pursuits of garden owners.Through literature study and relevant historical research,this thesis combines the interdisciplinary vision of architecture,landscape science,history and other disciplines with the help of the concept history,typology,garden aesthetics and other related research theories of garden of residence.On the basis of field survey and data collection,we focus on the analysis of typical cases surviving from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic of China in Yunnan,and systematically explore the historical development of Yunnan curtilage gardens,focusing on the analysis and summary of the composition characteristics of Yunnan curtilage gardens in terms of spatial environment arrangement,garden elements and spatial association,as well as the causes of the unique composition characteristics.Finally,the gardening philosophy of Yunnan curtilage gardens is elaborated through the creation of physical space environment,the pursuit of aesthetic meaning expression,and the garden construction thought.The analysis shows that Yunnan curtilage gardens have gone through four historical development stages: the budding period(Nanzhao),the development period(Yuan Dynasty),the mature period(Qing Dynasty),and the climax period(Republic of China),which show the transformation of Yunnan curtilage gardens in terms of gardening techniques,garden styles,and the identity of garden owners.The garden is characterized by the use of natural landscapes,the adaptation to nature,and the ability to see the big in the small,as well as the inheritance of traditional gardens and the acceptance of Western gardens.This thesis reflects the combination of the Yunnan curtilage gardens with tourism,sophistication,simplicity and naturalness.The thesis forms a more complete knowledge of the current state and architectural characteristics of Yunnan curtilage gardens,and the study will help to further understand the application of classical Chinese garden theory in Yunnan’s frontier ethnic areas. |
